A minute's research  (from 13 December 2016): https://uk.focusrite.com/news/tool-up-w ... collective

"...if you own a registered Focusrite interface, you can get free software from a new plugin partner every month".

So, as some have suggested, it may have been a bit of a cock up (or marketing ploy) in letting those with only software registered in on the deal. Oh well, I'm pleased that I was able to grab the Eventide Reverb. :)

Even so, a bit of clarification on the website would be helpful.

*Thread title amended.

I think they should make it clear indeed that this is meant for Focusrite interface owners. I'm pretty sure that Plugin Collective was meant only for the interface owners in the first place, but they managed to screw it up. During the first plugins the website gave several database errors at first so maybe someone screwed it up.

But it would be fair if the freebies are only for the interface owners otherwise they are just turning those plugins into freeware. And people have less incentive to actually buy Focusrite hardware.

This is the most probable scenario.

Interesting discovery last night...

Novation (partner company with Focusrite) is doing something similar with sample packs and Addictive Keys. But it turns out you have to register the "right" hardware. I had registered a Novation Circuit when I first bought it a few months ago and didn't qualify for any of the freebies, but as soon as I registered my Impulse25 (which I had already owned for years) all the free offers unlocked.

I got an Ableton Live project with three sampled piano instruments, another Addictive Keys piano (to go with the one I got from Focusrite), and a gigantic 4.3 Gb Loopmasters sample pack collection. :tu:

So, as i own a Novation keyboard now too, i can also get one of the Addictive Keys pianos. Wonder which one to get though, the grand piano doesn't sound too convincing for me, and i already have a (to me) nice sounding grand here, so, i'm floating between the Rhodes, and the Upright piano. Any takes on those?

Post

I think Best bet on ADkeys is Upright and Electric Grand.

No free plugin this month, but 25% off Fabfilter Pro-Q2 & Pro-DS instead.

Looking to buy a Focusrite Scarlett Solo in the next couple of days but was wondering whether you only get the monthly offer for the month you register the hardware or whether this continues for every month afterwards? I'm guessing the latter from what's written above but just wanted to check.

Post

You get them for every month afterwards. Also you'll qualify for the free Addictive Keys library.

Post

Thanks. Will research which of the Keys to pick up.

The Addictive Keys offer was REALLY nice. I already have Pro-Q2 so the voucher was useless for me. Getting close to the next month so I'm excited to see what's next :)

Thanks dude, totally forgot about this... i picked the Mark One finally today, simply because i didn't have a Rhodes library yet.

Post

Think it'll be a toss up between the Grand and Mark One. Only really have AIR's Velvet and Sonivox's 88 Ensemble to fill those gaps respectively but XLN seem to do fairly regular promos so can always pick up the other at a later date I guess.

So, at first if you had nothing, you got the database error. Then, if you registered Red from the CM giveaway the error went away. Most recently, you couldn't get the addictive keys with only having the CM giveaway registered, but, other people with just software had access.

So, I'm assuming rather than saying "only these hardware products qualify", they said "make sure that someone has something other than the CM giveaway registered."

I don't know, of course, but it seems like the most likely explanation.
