I do have a question though. While trying out chords in sundog, is it sending midi to the DAW to trigger the notes?

-dw
vanhaze said it already: Yes, the notes are sent to the DAW via MIDI :). And Sundog 3 will also include a GM compatible preview soundset, so that you don't have to work with a DAW if you don't want to. Windows users always had the option to use the Microsoft Wavetable Synth, but macOS users always had to start a DAW so far.

I don't know how you would set up the specific settings in Studio One, but yes, this should be possible.
Sundog supports running as either MIDI clock master or slave. Please take a look here:

But maybe you mean something else ..
What version of Reaper are you running? I cant directly drag and drop - I can drag it into windows explorer and import that midi file but its a tedious work-around. I'm also using loop-midi to route it maybe that my problem.

This might be a problem with the Windows user rights management then. Please make sure that both Sundog and Reaper run either with administrator privileges or without them. Using different privileges might lead to problems.

congratz Hauke! Looking forward..

Now the clock in Bitwig is also more stable, so this comes in handy. Btw, did kvr still not approve the company forum? strange..

Oh and do you have a bitwig script on offer? I use the multi bi one by thomas hezle but smth seems to be wrong with the channels in bw 2.0

Sundog is so cool. I feel guilty not giving Hauke more money for this. Thank you for these updates!

I haven't tested Bitwig 2 so far. Honestly, I don't know much about writing Bitwig extensions myself. So I hope that Thomas might do an update soon ;). From what I have heard, Bitwig seems to be getting better at handling MIDI events. I hope that they will support multi-channels soon.

Haha, now I feel like a lousy businessman :hihi:.

Yeah, sometimes I think: Man, I should charge money for the updates, too. But then again, I personally like software that supports existing users by giving them continuous improvements as long as possible. Of course I need to pay for rent and food like everybody else (Germany is quite expensive), but maybe maximising profits is not the main goal in the long run.

On this note: Thanks everybody for your support and for your encouragement! I really appreciate that.

That's my point. It shows that you have a big heart, and that's a wonderful thing to see. You've brought into the world a software that does not exist from other developers (at least not as good as Sundog) and made it extremely affordable and continue to develop Sundog at a fairly constant rate and offer updates at no cost to existing users. That's really cool. I'm going make a telephone call to Heaven's "Department Of Software Developers/Benevolence Division" and secure you a spot for when the time comes. :hihi:
