So I have recently upgraded my MacBook Pro from the late 2013 to a 2015 one and after re downloading Ableton (no saved sets) keeps popping up with this notification when starting the program:
'Some of the media files (such as samples) used by this set could not be loaded."
Any ideas?
Like I said, its a fresh install on my Mac and any samples are external HD. Im not trying to load a old project or anything and it happens with my external HD plugged in or not plugged in?
Any ideas? It looks/sounds like not all the basic packs didn't install or something?
Cheers
PS, been playing around with my new (used) Ableton 1 Push controller and its fantastic! On that side note, how much more brightness does it give with the power connected? It seams to be good with just USB so wanted to know if its worth buying a power cable for it?
Ableton cannot load some media files?

If Ableton itself is looking for the data then you'd have to set the path there. If it's a VST, there's usually a locate contents feature on its GUI. Probably a matter of different drive letter assigned to the external drive that might be sorted if you remembered what it was labeled in the old OS and change it in the new.

If the samples are not in a folder that live (9) expects, you need to add it to the 'Places' menu, then wait for Live to re-scan it. Its worth reading about how the browser system works in 9. Its very different to previous versions. To add new folders click 'add new folder' in the browser.
Edit: After rereading your post, if its a brand new, first time install, and you are simply starting off with a new live set, then I cant understand how media files can be missing. Are you launching using the Live icon? Which version of Live are you using?

Go to View -> File Manager -> [Manage Set] and check the Missing Files there:waring192 wrote:'Some of the media files (such as samples) used by this set could not be loaded."
