I'm starting to be interested in Roli Blocks. As I understand from demo videos you can a set a Block to a certain scale.
I wonder if you can have 2 Roli blocks in use, both set to C major scale, but starting with a different note on the lower left corner of each block.

Roli Block on the left a would have these 5 notes in the lowest line
C, D, E, F, G
Roli Block on the right would have these 5 notes in the lowest line
A, B, C, D, E

Anyone here who uses Roli Blocks and can answer my question?

Watched a couple of vids, couldn't find a definitive answer. From what I saw, given your example, you'd have to set the second block to Am. Any other note in the scale would be a mode, etc... and set up as such, if possible.

cool, that would do the job.
I also wonder, if one can configure, with which note the block starts in left lower corner.
e.g. I want to make it C Major, but I want the note ob the lower left not to be C, instead it should be G.
Did someone find any hints that this is possible, too?

I haven't looked at blocks in any detail, but I know they output standard midi data. If they don't do what you want natively, you could roll your own in any software of your choice.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Like I said, that would be a mode, mixolydian in that example. Don't recall seeing if it did modes you'd have to do a little research now you know what it's called.

Cool, thanks.
Well I am happy that I know Major and Minor, mixolydian sounds like someone behind the counter who's gonna prepare a nice drink for me :-)

But of course, I can look up what the names stand for

OK, I found the answer to my first question:
This morning, I thought I's just download the iPad app and see which scale options are in the app.
Just choose scal (e.g. C major) and turn on "Hide Mode". That will leave you with only the notes in the scale.

Did not have much time to play with it, but the descision is made: I am gonna get the Rolo Block.
The sounds are great and expressive. VERY COOL.
I just wish that they'd offere the "Noise" App as a plugin so that I could load it up in Logic.
