It was doing that for me too but you can get rid of the demo noise by using your Tracktion account to activate it for a 30 day demoposhook wrote:DEMO noise sweep every few seconds drives me crazy? Are you kidding me? There are two different demos? One without registration but with my name, email, country and I am no robot captcha and another one with account creation? Any1 has idea why is that? And now when I want to have no noise demo version I have to register and download 3GB once more?aMUSEd wrote:It was doing that for me too but you can get rid of the demo noise by using your Tracktion account to activate it for a 30 day demoposhook wrote:DEMO noise sweep every few seconds drives me crazy? No same demo - just 2 ways to activate it - time limited but without noise (and tied to your account), or no time limit but with noise.poshook wrote:Are you kidding me? There are two different demos? Would have been good if they explained this more clearly but it's not a bad idea all the same.

Those that create an account on their website can, on running Waveform, go through the registration process (just enter userid and password) and it'll give you a month's trial of all the downloaded elements (including BioTek and their Essential Plug-ins collection). Without the horrible noise.poshook wrote:DEMO noise sweep every few seconds drives me crazy? Just one minute and I started to hate this application... Darn, someone just beat me to it. By mere minutes. Twenty-odd of them.

Is Tracktion the only DAW in the market that does this?inkwarp wrote:i agree. 'dinosaur-ish' aspects aside : )I don't know why there still isn't an Auto-slice thingy like Live and so most other Softs have ... Come to think about it it does seem very Dinosaurish .... Aside from that Waveform is a Very Nice ..
i guess that the user base for Tracktion would be laptop users mostly.
the all-in-one interface is a real positive in that respect.

Unfortunately this infuriating noise also ended my demo session after ten minutes. It's way too obtrusive for a music making application.poshook wrote:DEMO noise sweep every few seconds drives me crazy? Just one minute and I started to hate this application... No, you don't have to download it all again.poshook wrote:Are you kidding me? There are two different demos? Go through the arduous registation process when you start the program - 10 seconds.
But, yeah, I can see how that's such a lot of work.

There is a Tracktion/Waveform forum on KVR. Probably a better place to get answers.

OK back to GUI. I really like how the waveform looks. BUT there are a tons of free space on the bottom. When I open default EQ GUI it is placed over 1/2 of bottom area which means 50cm on my two display setup. That is crazy. I would remake the right section as well. Now with plugins, pan and volume pluguins looks very strange and messy. It could be displayed only for selected track (similar to Logic or Cubase style inspector). Overall direction is nice, the potential of the new mixer for future updates is huge

You can close the right side ( volume/pan , and plugins section ) .... What's weird if you have the mixer on and use the included EQ or compressor you have to close out the mixer to view the bottom GUI window ( similar to Lives ) as the mixer blocks its view . I really like Tracktion and Waveform (T8) . It has some bug fixing needed but it's usable for me ... I'd like to see them do something like a Drumracks and Simpler but instead they gave us Collective which is not my thing , and I've ranted about that enough ... Hopefully we get some crash fix ,bug fixes and plugin compatibility fixes soon ... Sometimes I wonder why I don't throw the towel in and just use Reaper ... Seems Reaper and Reason are always mentioned to be so stable ....
