No new gear, and nothing on the horizon (my 'wildcard' Tassman 5 will sadly not be released). However, fixing new bugs in my software-brain interface, and streamlining my sound>sample>jazz workflow will saturate my bandwidth with happiness for the next year or two

"sound>sample>jazz" sounds interesting. Maybe we'll get to hear the fruits of your pursuits by the end of the year.Michael L wrote:No new gear, and nothing on the horizon (my 'wildcard' Tassman 5 will sadly not be released). Any temptations? Anything on a shortlist to buy on 01/01/18 at 00:00:01?
My biggest temptation so far has been Audio Thing's 'Outer Space'. I don't need another delay, per se, but I'd been waiting for a decent 201 emulation for years. Had been banking on GSI updating their emulation, but after so long it as appeared but with no plan for an osx version.
I've also been quite vocal in my feature improvements/suggestions to AT, and they have been so open and responsive that I feel they are worth supporting.
Also quite into the XLN-Audio RC-20. Nice little box of tricks

Still going, though I was mildly tempted by a de-reverbration plugin. I can think of a few old tracks I'd like to clean up, but I don't want to do it that much. Back in the day of Portastudios, we would print FX to whatever we wanted FXted (because the fx rack unit was rented), and being novices with artificial FX, we naturally overdid it. I'm just really too lazy to go back through all those old tapes. It amazes me that there's all this 'stuff' out there that is of only peripheral relevance to me, yet my brain tells me MUST HAVE! Erm.... No.
So, having not bought shoes since 2010, and the soles on my Adidas gone through, I've decided to buy a few pairs of shoes. GAS is pretty bad when you neglect to properly attire yourself.

Bombadil only wears shoes in his house; outdoors in the middle of the Old Forest by the Withywindle River he wears big yellow boots. Listen to the chorus of his song....incubus wrote:No new shoes since 2010? (sniff sniff)

Strange, but true. I have a 30+ year-old pair of Oxfords that I probably won't need to wear again until one of my in-laws goes. Otherwise, I wear trainers. My feet are not smelly, and the last pair lasted me 7 years. They held up very well, and if it weren't for the soles, they'd have lasted even longer.incubus wrote:No new shoes since 2010? My yellow boots haven't been worn for a while. A couple of Pipe-Weed plants took up residence.
So, 2 pairs of casuals, and a pair of Adidas on the way. My wife is calling me 'Imelda.' She should talk.

I'm out. Bought Waves Center, one of the few plugins I have been eyeing.
