M-Audio products on Windows 10, Fast Track Ultra

So, I have this interface, the M-Audio fast Track Ultra. After fooling around with it forever and having fits, I see that the driver isn't compatible with Windows 10 and running in compatibility mode isn't helpful either.
I see this problem exists with several other M-Audio products. They are owned by Avid now and they don't seem to care about doing anything about this.
Is there anyone out there who has dealt with this issue, and do you have any suggestions?
If I could make my computer see this device without loading the driver, maybe I could then use ASIO4ALL to run it...but my computer does not see the interface at all unless I install the driver, and when the driver is installed, ASIO4ALL won't see the interface. I also own the newer but small M-Track interface and that trick works with that one, but not with the Fast Track.

Seems those that upgraded W7 or 8 to W10 had no issues with the 7 or 8 driver on 10. Maybe disabling driver signature enforcement would allow install of the legacy driver.

I had this issue with a Tascam interface; I found it impossible to get a Windows 10 PC to acccept the W7 drivers. However, when I updated a W7 laptop that already had the drivers installed (ie. installed W10 over the top of W7) they worked fine.

So, drivers could be ok, it's the installer. Maybe you can extract the actual driver files (I've never done this but believe you can...)

Thanks a lot...I'll read through this, see what I can do. I talked to a computer repair guy I know and he told me that this can be dangerous. He doesn't understand audio applications very well. <G>

If you're worried, create a restore point before the attempt so you can go back. I get the IT guy says caution, but this isn't that big of a deal. It's reported working in W10 so that reduces worry of bad results.

Print the instructions so you have them.

I am skipping all other replies because I am at work, but...

I have Ultra 8R working on 2 Windows 10 computers. I dont know what problem ou have- you must of not install it in the right order. I have it working on Win 10 and installed it before Anniversary update, and I just installed it on new Kaby Lake with Anniversary Update, and it works great. No issues at all. Which means their driver is signed.

Did you already install the Win 7 driver? Your DAW does not see it? Does it show in your Control Pannel? I can select it in right lower corner to use as computer output- I can even use it for Youtube and computer audio.

Tell me where it does not show up.

Why in the world are you using ASIO4ALL? This is not actual ASIO driver. Do not use it. It is nothing but altered Windows driver. Ultra 8R has very good and stable driver. Use that. Please, explain what happens when you install Ultra driver.

He's not, he just tried it as a workaround for the device not showing anywhere. He figured A4All might have x-ray vision, or such.

If the driver were installed on W7 or 8 and that OS was upgraded to W10, it got carried over and worked, no issue. If not, W10 won't accept it from a clean install. Turning off driver signing for the install may sort that issue.

I can use the driver that supports it, and I have the most recent one....It is erratic. Sometimes upon booting up my computer will not see the interface and I have to keep trying again and again, finally it'll show up. I have things running pretty good now when it does finally see it, by running in compatibility mode for Windows 8. It can still be erratic and drop out at times but maybe I have it fixed now...I hope! I did not have the driver installed before.

Anything in Compatibility Mode is not so good. I'd have gone my method and ran it natively. If you're happy with it as is, so am I. It's all about the music any way you look at it, right?
