Hope this is the correct place to post this?

I've been using the piano roll for years, but only recently the Step Editor. With the piano roll, you can select regions from different tracks, and they will show simultaneously in the piano roll screen. Is it possible to do this with the Step Editor (create Lanes from different tracks essentially)? Seems like a fairly obvious thing to do, for instance if you have a soft synth kick on one track, and a snare on another (and hi-hats on a third), to be able to use the Step Editor on all three at the same time.

Any answers much appreciated.

You'd do them all in one and then dissolve the part after.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a reason (in your opinion) why this hasn't been implemented - am I the only one that would find it useful?

I love Logic, and my general experience of it has been that if I can imagine doing it, it is possible with Logic. So not used to being told that something isn't possible!

I'd rather try touching the moon than try to fathom any DAW Mfg's thinking.

It may well be possible, but considering the wide use of Logic around here and the lack of other responses, I'm guessing no.

In Cubase, Step is part of the piano roll. If you Link Editors, you can open multiple parts in one window. Do you have to option to right-click one of multi-selected parts and have the option to open in Step Editor? Is there a Link Editors function?

Cheers - I'll have a further play around. I did try displaying a few regions on the same piano roll, selecting all the notes, then opening the Step Editor, and selecting 'Create Lanes for Selected Events' (or whatever it says), but it didn't work sadly. So I suspect you are right!
