The iLok manager as an option to register a serial. Try it so that I can have confidence buying softube plugins.

I don't know how to do that - the only obvious option in the iLok License Manager isghettosynth wrote:The iLok manager as an option to register a serial. Try it so that I can have confidence buying softube plugins.
Licensies->Redeem Activation Code,
but entering the purchased Softube license gives just a red X, meaning not possible.

If the key isn't in the right format (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xx) then it's not an iLok activation code.
In that case I'd get in touch with Softube and ask for one. There's no reason to have to go through Gobbler for a perpetual licence (assuming it is one).

If you get a redeem code you can register to iLok at Softube, there's a redeem page where you enter the code and your iLok name.
Eg JRR Shop would email the redeem code and a link to the redeem page at Softube

I started with that with the Softube, of course. My way is not start whining in the Forums before I have contacted the responsible organization, first, andsprnva wrote:If the key isn't in the right format (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xx) then it's not an iLok activation code.

let them solve the problem.
I have written about 6 mails to them, got feedback, too. The end result: Softube says, Gobbler is the way to do the authorization.
If YOU have the way to get the iLok activation code directly from the Softube, without the Gobbler interfering, I'm all ears...

The value of this kind of advice is zero without any exact instructions.VariKusBrainZ wrote:^

"If you get...", there, as documented, that's what I have tried to do, all the time, the redeem procedure in the softube site leads you to the Gobbler authorization, and the Softube is not helpful to do anything else.
"E.g. JRR Shop...", I have not purchased from the JRR.
I send a email both to the dealer and to the PACE, if they can deliver the redeem code.
Otherwise, much trouble for nothing.

Not in this case.
If you read the page two of this thread, you see that I have documented exactly that Softube site, there's even screen shot of that. Entering your Softube product license to that site leads you directly to the wolfs teeths, i.e. to the Gobbler "give me your iLok account password" site.
Any better advice?

I just registered the new Modular module last night on that page, didn't notice it was Gobbler though, pretty sure it wasn't.
Either way I'm not registered with Gobbler and all I entered was the redeem code and my iLok account name. I downloaded the installer from Softube.

Hard not to notice that you authorize the Gobbler to take care of your Softube iLok registration.VariKusBrainZ wrote:I just registered the new Modular module last night on that page, didn't notice it was Gobbler though, pretty sure it wasn't.

The whole point here is that the Softube should let the PACE/ iLok to take care of that, and you shouldn't enter your iLok password anywhere else than to the iLok site or iLok License Manager.
You don't enter you bank account password to any 3rd party site, do you?

Here's the full instructions I got from Audiodeluxe yesterday.
As I say I went nowhere near Gobbler and only had to enter the redeem code and divulge my iLok ID, no password was requested.
Never been asked for the password when registering plugins to my iLok account.
1. Go to http://www.softube.com/register to transfer the license to your iLok.com account. A USB iLok key is NOT required but Softube requires an iLok User ID. You get this for free by registering your account at http://www.ilok.com. Your iLok User ID is the login name you have registered. You will also need an application called iLok License Manager installed on the computer. You also get this application for free at http://www.ilok.com, as well as all instructions you need on how to use it.
2. Download and install the plug-in for your product here: http://www.softube.com/index.php?id=download
Full installation and authorization support can be found by visiting: http://softube.com/index.php?p=support_faq

Did you log in to Softube first before entering the redeem code?

Yes. As said, I have gone this path several times. Documented the procedure and sites in the cronological order in the page two (screen shots) in this site. There's no way (I have not found any, nor has anyone so far told me how to do that) you can avoid the screen shot #3, see the page 2 in this thread, and that you must enter your iLok password and authorize Gobbler.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Did you log in to Softube first before entering the redeem code?
NOTE: The code I enter to that Softube site is not the redeem code but the product license code, the one (and only) you get when you purchase the product, in this case from the AudioDeluxe).
