I'm totally cool with that it's not your cup of tea but I highly appreciate that you write it that it's well done.

Tbh I'm especially proud of that moment when it suddenly turns into some sort of indi-guitar-thing when you would expect it the least while listening to it for the first time. I love to play with genres and to abuse them.

I'm working with a new singer (male this time ) on a new project (with the guitars more up-front than with TorpedoTorpedo) and this is one of the tunes for it.

The vocal-melody and lyrics are done already, we just didn't manage to record the vocals in time for the competition.

So it will have vocals finally, Wopelka

Comments, in order of the songs saved on my disk. I don't give a damn if your names or the titles are all correct, adding proper ID tags shouldn't be too hard and I can't be arsed to actually compare the files on my disk to what is shown in WinAmp.
Also, I'm not into buttkissing at all, remind that.

Great idea, laughed my ass off. Done well too. Sound is a tad cheesy, but that might just suit the song fine. Unfortunately Sleek didn't even enter this month...

Nice use of GPO. Like the melody development. To my ears the acoustic arpeggios don't fit all the time, but maybe that's your intention.

Too much layered. the orchestral sounds mash up most everything. Plus, they are sounding too harsh for my old ears as well (same goes for the piano). Musical intention is unclear to me.

Nice acoustic guit, get's lost a bit during the vocal passage, maybe due to the "soundscapish" stuff happening there as well. I'd prefer it without any of those things.

Weird jazzy stuff, done well. Perhaps I wouldn't listen to it if I had the choice, but that doesn't say much. Liked some older entries better.

too much biting mids, but I allready know you like it that way. Don't like the groove on this one, but again, that's only my taste. Selection of sounds IMO is so-so-ish. As said, sooo much mids...

Funny stuff. Sounds to me like some comedian having an attempt at singing - but maybe that's what it's meant to be like. Unfortunately some of the sounds are really cheesy (namely the lead and clavinet). Can't say much more.

Doesn't tell me anything. Some groove, some chords, some noodling, some arps, all not exactly excellent IMO. No melody but also no spectacular sound FX or noodling to keep my interest awake. Sorry, I allready said I'm not into butt kissing, so that's just my opinion.

Vocals hidden too much, both by frequency and room information. When you turn the volume lower they're barely understandable anymore. I also think you could've concentrated on the verse melody a bit more.

You must have some weird holidays to do things such as this. But I like it in a way. For my taste the brass backings could be a tad more upfront, but then... not sure.

Excellent production. Vocoder could be a bit better in terms of understandability. Too much of a snipplet though (I allready told you I'd prefer specialized 2 minute versions for them contests).

Not bad but lacks concreteness to qualify as a tune (liked your Cameleon ambient stuff better, at least the sound have time to evolve there). Guitar sound-ish noddling is just that, noodling, doesn't seem to fit any purpose.

Being no native english speaker, I don't get what the samples are all about (or where they're coming from), but execution is OK. Found it to be too repetitive from a formal aspect.

Not sure whether I get the intention of this at all. Unfortunately the melodica is way out of intonation at times, and personally I don't like that too much (even if it might've been intentionally).

Doesn't add anything to the original but cheese - for me it's rather tasteless. Ends WAY to abruptly too. I know it's a snipplet, but that's not what these contests are about.

Can't say much about it. Intentional meaning unclear. For a melodic piece it lacks of melodic development, for a soundscape thing it covers too much information, for a demo it's not sounding well enough. Just my opinion, as usual.

Typical latin ballad-ish stuff, but I like it. Unfortunately the sound (especially the vocals) isn't too great.
No idea whether the samba-ish part fits or not - not my taste and more sounding like something such as "oh, I need to add something else".

Top stuff, almost as usual. Nice arrangement, like your voice as well, good playing! End part is a bit falling off in terms of musical quality (but that might just be me).

Excellent execution, not my taste at all though (has got nothing to do with the fact of Ted Nugent being one of the most clueless assholes around). In fact, I hate just about everything in such sort of music, the grooves, the meaningless guitar noodling just for the sake of it being there, the style of singing, everything. If I could ban one style of music from the world, this had high chances to be it.
Still, you are mastering this style very well and that's why it's one of the absolutely best entries this month, especially considering the fact that you managed to do a complete composition fitting very well in the 2 minute limit. To put it shortly: Execution: 100%, taste: 0%. Just my opinion of course.

Misses some vocals. Like that chaotic guitar stuff in a way, but to make it listenable for me it'd require some vocals or at least some melody (even if I don't think any instrumental melody would do the job)

I really can't comment on such things. Seems to be brilliantly produced, but I'm just not much into all these ambient/electronic soundscapes. I do however like the groove a lot. Might perhaps even get a vote for the production value (but I'm not there yet).

Not sure what this is meant to be. Lacks of any real melody. Soundscape for a movie at best, but for that quality should perhaps be better.

Another soundscape thing. Can't comment on the music at all. Heard better productions I think - but even that is hard to say.

You should indeed add some vocals quickly. In this case, I somewhat like the mixture of traditional sounds (guits) and electro. I also like the blend of more background-ish stuff and some in-your-face sounds.
Still, it needs some melody (or whatever sort of singing). And well, the guitars could sound better too, they seem to be a bit muddy (maybe using less overdrive would be a trick).

There's a certain compositional aspect in this that I just like a lot. I wouldn't say this would be music I'd listen to, but I like the weirdness of it, while still drawing a composition line all throughout.
Certainly one of my faves just for that.

Richard Clayderman, eh? At least the beginning is. Not too bad though, when the orchestral stuff enters.
But the melody remains to be clayderman-ish. Maybe a good title theme for some movie. Done well, just a bit too pathetic for my taste.

Dancey. But then, for some real dance stuff some of the sounds could eventually be more brutal (leads and filter sweeps) or pumping (bass). Not bad though.

Not my style, but apparently done pretty much OK. The groove is really pumping well. Don't like the accordion break though. Also, as others allready mentioned, the voice needs to be raised.

Well, all the jokes and intelligent comments about 4'33" have allready been made, so this isn't anything new at all.
If you ever listened to the original (I doubt many people commenting on it ever had) you would also know that there's something else going on but pure silence. The thing was recorded live and you can actually hear quite some noise there, such as musicians swapping pages and the occasional bits from the audience as well.
If I had made an attempt at this, I'd have at least recorded myself switching some synth patches ("silence 001" to "silence 002") with my mouse or so (as silent as possible of course).
As it is, it's just nothing else but what it is: nothing!

Hm, too oldfashioned, even for an old blues rocker like me. You should at least have added a theme (maybe played doubled by organ and guitar or so). Timing of the solo guitar is a tad funny too (even if that might be intentional).
