Hi there :)

I'm just planning a budget for a studio-setup for some kind of university-related mobile radiobroadcast-unit and now have to get things together for a fourth workplace, the other ones run on ProTools (one has the Mbox and the other one Digi002) and tracktion, but here I'm addressed to buy a mackie-mixer (maybe MACKIE CFX 12) so another Digi002 (which has a hardware-mixer) is no option right now.
Unfortunately ProTools Free runs on OS 9 but not on OS X according to their site, so I'm wondering if there's any host-programm which could be a good counterpart to our ProTools-workplaces. As I'm on PC at home I don't have any clues and not the time either to grasp all that info over the net, so pointing me in a direction would be highly appreciated.

thank you!

For Price and features I'd consider Bias Deck on the Mac side http://www.bias-inc.com/products/deckLe/ and Cakewalk's Sonar for PC http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/studio.asp Both support Asio drivers as to be compatible with the Digi 002/M-Box.

If you want to stay ProTools, maybe you should go for another MBox, and route the Mackie mixer through that.

There's also the Digi-002 Rack, which doesnt have the control surface/mixer.
