Exponential Audio: R2

Lovingly adding this to my verb collection, in the Valhalla VintageVerb corner.

...OOOOOOK this might be the algorithmic medium room/hall and large ambiance verb I was looking for. Its really f**king awesome geti it if you can. Last reverb I bought was Redline. This seems equally impressive at what it does. Can't thank these guys enough

This is probably the most generous month yet. I can't believe I now own R2!

As an owner of Relab's amazing LX480 Complete, I can tell you all that R2 is in the same league as that. These are just that one little tier above Valhalla and 2CAudio reverbs folks (imho of course). Relab, Lexicon and Exponential Audio are at the very top in terms of quality.

If you qualify, I at least recommend creating an iLok account and authorizing this plugin so you own it before the month is up. I haven't had any issues with my iLok and use it for Softube, Relab, Exponential Audio and Soundtoys plugins, all of which are some of the best available.

I don't think you can register it without at least installing the pace
software. Of course, if you happen to already have that for
machine based activations.

Just sayin...

I've tried and you need an i-lok dongle to activate the licence. I don't know if that then means if you don't get an i-lok until after end of April it times out.

Toying with getting an iLok just for this but is it really "that" good? I have Valhalla Room and Vintage along with the earler Eventide 2016Room giveaway and many other freebie reverbs of variable quality. I don't have money to burn, should I pull the trigger on a £45 iLok key? :help:

I'm in the same boat - looks like you can get them for £40.

Currently using i-lok manager and I think I'd need something more than one plugin to push me to do this.

I've not particularly seen other companies using i-lok that don't now offer the free licence manager for PC.

Is it easier to move to a new PC with the dongle? (I don't travel so or have multiple machines so it would only happen every 5 years or so)

As long as it's been dumped/registered in your iLok account you'll be OK, even if you can't use it until you have the hardware iLok...

ok thanks for that. I realised after posting that yes I had authorised because I put in my code - but I haven't activated.

me too - I could even get ilok 2 for about 35€... I'm not quite sure I want to give in and let Michael Carnes win though... to me it seems clear that this amazing give-away is a stragecial move by him to lure those interested in his products, who are NOT willing to use a dongle, over to the dark site so they can purchase some other stuff from him afterwards... (personally I am really interested in Excalibur and most likely would have already purchased it quite a while ago, would it not require a dongle)

Another reason for me not to make use of this freebie-offer is that Slate requires the dongle too and has a few freebies and I loathe Slate but am not sure I'm strong enough to resist their freebies then...

I guess I'll pass.

Is it easier to move to a new PC with the dongle?

That depends on whether you know you'll change hardware before you do so... if that is the case, you can quite easily deactive all (crtl+a) your licences on your old machine using their licence manager and then re-activate them afterwards on the new machine afterwards. Granted, it is still a bit more work than just moving a USB stick from one machine to the other, however not much.

I'm surprised they allow people to sell these? Are they not NFR? (esp R2)

What post/circumstance are you referring/answering to? :?

Was thinking the same thing - Maybe they're not considered 'Sold' until the ilok code has actually been activated so is technically not being 're-sold'

Slate, Lexicon, McDSP - a few others probably too...

hmm, Lexicon might be of interest. I'll think about it.
