Hello All!
I'm very excited about version 3! I'm a huge fan of Sundog and the Melodic Flow vst. You suggest that it is a pretty nifty combo and I totally agree! I want to post a track where I practically used Sundog and Melodic Flow for everything (except the percussion). The track is called Struggle of the Oriental Lilly and can be found here:
https://soundcloud.com/thesoundden_us/s ... ental-lily
From what I can recall, I used sundog to lay out the chords of the song and play all the 'arp' parts. I used melodic flow for the 'solo' section. It may not be the 'best' showcase of what these can do, but I can tell you that for a person under some 'time crunches', these are my 1st stop tools.
Anyhow, let me know if you have any questions!
Anthony

Thanks a lot for sharing, Anthony! This is a great example for the Sundog + MelodicFlow combo. The oriental atmosphere is definitely a nice showcase for something different than the Western electronic music that I do in my tutorials. I also like the sound design here.dopet wrote:Hello All!

Nice feeling; the music will convey Oriental; I don't think you need it in the title; Struggle of the Lily might be enough.

Hey everybody,
here are some other new features that will be available in Sundog 3.0:
.
As I said before, Sundog 3 will be a free update. Sundog 3 will cost 55 EUR / $59. However, until 2017/04/23 you can get Sundog 3 for the old Sundog 2 price (44 EUR / $49).
I also made a video about the automatic chord progression optimizations:
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Hauke
here are some other new features that will be available in Sundog 3.0:
- Automatic chord progression optimizations ("Chords" menu): "Minimize finger movement", "Minimize bass note movement", "Minimize highest note movement".
- Advanced pattern settings: Keep overlapping notes pressed when chords change.

First I have to say, I find this 2 tools very useful ...
But I have to come back to this issue mentioned by xbitz...
Something I´ll always struggle with, is in programs like Sundog the lack of open or wide chords mentioned by xbitz...
In modern dance music, there is nearly no tune, where you don´t find chords with the third played one octave higher and not a single chord generator apart from the Scale and chord tool in Reason 9 does support this....
This would be an immediate buy for me, doesn´t matter the costs...

Is there any chance to have sundog support this or let me import my own chords instead of the boring classic ones???xbitz wrote:just a presentation video about the concept, the general starting point in trance is an open chord structure, the right chord mode is: the third is moved to an octave lower and the root is doubled to two octave lower ...

Sundog does currently support the creation of custom chord voicings and save/recall them as user libraries.Trancit wrote:Is there any chance to have sundog support this or let me import my own chords instead of the boring classic ones???

This is already included! xbitz himself creates wide chords with Sundog in the video that you mentioned. Additional to that, he used an external tool to keep the chords within a certain range.Trancit wrote:First I have to say, I find this 2 tools very useful ...

To create open (wide) chords, you can use the Chord Mods feature in Sundog:
http://www.feelyoursound.com/sundog-manual/#chordmods
There is also an open chord preset included in Sundog (you can load it from the Chord Mods page).
And you can use the Own Chords feature to store and work with your own chord collections:
http://www.feelyoursound.com/sundog-manual/#ownchords
You can see both features in action in this video (Own Chords at 7:35, Chord Mods at 10:00):

another solution is using a Nora instance before the instrument
and redistribute the chord notes with it(and chopping them, and ...) it hasn't got "keep the chords within a certain range" tool
