The sound has really changed a lot, way more than I remember for instance with the Saurus update, and that was even a new main version, not just .x.
u-he did the same with Zebra 2.5 - problem is I guess is it's OK to switch between 2 modes but when you add more it gets unrealistic.

In other words if your sounds were based on certain sweetspots, the new 'drastically enhanced sound quality' probably ruined everything. Not good if you spent a lot of time doing delicate fine-tweaking until the sounds were just right...
You're right, it could messe up some presets. My guess is that they check the presets, and adjust a couple of things, before releasing a new version, with sound enhancements.

Anyway, i don't really see an easy way to do this, unless you want to pack bloat in your new version (for example, i really didn't want to mess with ElectraX anymore, after the Electra2 update...).

(I ask because we're permanently facing similar issues, so it would be great to hear what other companies do and what their users think about it)
No, it's not 100% sound compatible at all. All the previous updates always changed the sound even though it was stated that it was 100% compatible.

Tone2 only mean that the presets will load. It's one of those weird things about Tone2 products.. the actual sound changes sometimes from one update to another (which is why I always keep old downloads handy).

This is good. I like my synths to have somewhere between 15-25% robustness.
Lol :)

Was wondering about that too.

Found an extremely weird bug. I can not type the letter 'm' when I try to name a preset I created. The capital 'M' works just fine though. Very strange.

EDIT: Also.. my preset isn't loading up properly. Man I really hope this isn't any copy protection shenanigans that have broken down. :x

Well.. I managed to salvage the preset by loading an automatic backup that Reaper created.

Man, I had forgotten just how good a pad machine this thing is. I had an awesome pad going with just a little tinkering (and tons of fine tuning so that I could "play it" precisely on my crappy iRig keys).

Gladiator 2 Pad Improv

That's all Gladiator 2 + a compressor (Violet from the N4 library) and DMG Limitless on the master to catch any possible peaks.

Very robust.

hahaha :D

I have really no idea what they mean with that....

Always good for a gladiator to have some extra robustness.

I hope the new Zebra will get some more stripes.
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Nice track! Nice pad choice, too!
