Hi!

I'm looking for a way to analyze the attack-transients of a track, and then apply this envelope to another track...

How do i do this??

Post

Voodoo magic?

Good luck with this!
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Maybe i was not very clear in the first post..

Let me explain my problem...

I want to create a stereo widening effect by aplifying the L-R signal (sidechain) as a function of the L+R signal...i have alrady split up the signal so the right channel must be amplified as a function of the left channel's attack transients..

This technique is invented by robert orban is the only way widening the stereo image without overexagarating the reverb in the source...

cheers all!

you may want to play with new voxengos plug (transmodder), it has both *mid* and *side* mode for it's filters, so it is able to do such - when triggered by transient it can drive a side-only filter, which can - you guessed it, taddaa - produce nicely widened image with say midchannel treated on another transients. (not quite ***exactly*** what you're after, but close enough)

it has 36 + 28 knobs on interface though

@ maxCrest: Hey, that's a feature i'm searching for! I even contacted christopher bustad from www.bustad.com and told him that his plug is really outstanding but the stereo effect is not radio-like. :?

Do you wanna emulate the original Orban 222 A- stereo effect? That would be cooooooool ....:hyper:

I have heard radio stations often use the old stereomax. If you know something about this machine i would be glad if you tell a little bit about this machine :)

I'm not alone!! :D

The StereoMaxx is a different story, and not hard to emulate at all..
The priciple of this box is to create a "haas" effect is the L-R signal.

They simply split up the signal into Mid / Sidechain, and delay the L-R signal from 0 to 15ms,Thats it...

You can simulate this with tools..or in for example cool edit..

The search goes on..

That would be cool, if you would be able to recreate this effect

So, if you search for alpha or beta testers ..

Good luck :!: :)

There are patents pending on these effects...so i'm not sure if it's allowed to simulate them digital..

Hm, i don't know .. I'm not a lawyer.

I know that virsonix have made the virtual bbe sonic maximizer possible so ..

By the way: This special stereo effect: Is it only be included in the orban broadcast machines?

As far as i know only the orban optimod 8400,2200 are included with these kind of spatial enhancers (222a)..because it's based on one of his patents..

here's a link to the patent : Orban's Patent

If your interested...

It's a shame i don't know how to program plug-ins...it's actually not that complicated..

Cya!

Sounds like this thing at least does the transient detection. From the description it doesn't sound like it will output its information. Suggest it to the developer?

(Say Max, learn how to use the url tag. That long URL makes this page rather wide.)
