Simpler is a sampler, so nope.

The only bouncing option you have is to use your DAW's built-in bounce/freeze feature on a full-length track (or maybe group of tracks?). It has to be the case that if a mod needs to evaluate your project, they can just go through and delete any bounced audio, and render out your track. If your track depends on playing back any audio files, no matter their provenance, whether as clips or via a sampler, it's a DQ.

That said, I'm sure lots of ppl work with sampled drums until near the end of the month, then delete all the sample-based tracks from their project and set up the final synth drum instances.

The reasoning behind this is that many synths have free-running oscillators, and part of the challenge is to manage those.

Well at 3" that's nearly twice the size of shp9500 drivers! :hihi: Ofc Genelic monitors are extremely fine tuned and I see them way more often than yamaha hs series (pretending to be cheap ns10 bookshelf speakers) in studios. Tbh if price is an issue 9927 earbuds are fine *cough, I mean California USA-made krk series 1 monitors go for $400 a pair. With a couple dozen dBs boosted 100 Hz low shelf on 'em, the curve sounds nearly like m40xs :hihi:. That's great, considering new Chinese v8 s4 ones with a sub are a 2k setup. :lol:

One of the advantages to synthesizing drums is the uniqueness of the hits that give it a living feel.

CLA uses generous compression on his drums and drums resonate with tons of harmonics already, not to mention the several pieces of compressing/coloring/saturating analog hardware they eventually pass through. Plus, some of the drums on his records are layered with samples sometimes. To replicate that with synthesis, I layer some oscillators and different types of compression and saturation which gives it a more uniform sound. :tu:

Just a suggestion I have been thinking of it the last few days!

I suggest that the OSC contains two synths in the title, one is free and the other is commercial. For example, "OSC #101: Synth1/Diversion". The chosen synths are up to the organizer, based on whatever logic he sees.

The advantage is that participants who have Diversion would use Diversion and the rest would use Synth1 (for example). Maybe those who use the free synth option would have +10 points to encourage using the free synths (if this is a goal for this competition in general).

Well, I'm trying to think of a 'fair' way for every one. Not only free synths and not only commercial. I don't know! I hope it is not a silly idea :clown:
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

A question that I'm sure most people here have figured out...

Since for OSC you have to do drums with a synth, I take it you need an instance for snare, an instance for hihats etc.

How do you bundle these together so you can edit the midi on a single midi editor, but have them on different tracks with a synth each? In FL it works like this easily from the begining, but I'm now using reaper, and have no clue how to do this :)

EnGee showed you one way, so you can directly play the sounds from the synth. I use a different method. I use MTPowerDrumKit to create all the drum parts. So I can play all the drum sounds together in real time on my keyboard with full expression and velocity. When the arrengment is done, I copy this MIDI track to each drum sound from the synth and delete all midi notes which do not belong to the specific drum sound. E.q. I delete all data exept the kick data. On the next I delet everything exept the snare and so on.
