I was really into his early stuff, long before centerfold and freeze frame (mostly his first two albums, the first self titled and the other "The Morning After" and then the live "Full House")

He was from my area and lived in my hometown for a while when I was growing up, just one of the town folk

Oh man! Memories from my childhood.

Freeze Frame and Centerfold were played all the time at the roller rink when where we'd go roller-skating as kids. I have those two songs added to my Spotify list too.

What city do you live in Hink? I just went to Maine looking for a house to buy to live in. Liked the people, hated the cold weather.

Anyway, I never knew anything about J. Geils, but those songs really marked a time in my life. Emotions, smells, thoughts about life, friends, history etc... Everyone would roller skate and when he'd say "now freeze!", everyone in the place would kind of skate for a moment like they were a statue, only breaking out of the pose right before they ran into the wall.

I can only thank the guy for adding something very enjoyable to my little world. I hope the guy had a good life.

well now I'm in a little town on the coast called Bucksport Maine, I grew up in Bedford Mass and we had a camp on a lake up here :)
