I've noticed that a few of the sounds can only be triggered with high velocity, at lower velocity there's no sound. Anyone found the same problem?

Please specify a particular patch so we can see/hear it ourselves.

...this error besides the other mentioned (... no sound, error messages...) also occurred when I tried some sounds...

@Squids - I will also send you a detailed list with the sounds, when I've finished testing all sounds (Sonic Synth, Guitar Collection, Symphony Strings, Omni Synth).

btw. is there a ST2 GM map for the Omni Synth sounds available?

OK, found one. Try the "Fiddle 2 V-Start" patch. Some of the notes (e.g. C3) has no sound at low velocity.

Group Bundle Purchaser

I'm also having problems with patches causing my system to crash. If it's a ST2LE problem how hard would it be to offer those ST2LE users with a copy of ST1LE? You could send an email to the purchasers with a download location. I know this sounds a bit extreme but it would be cool if we could get our patches to work.

Thanks
Dennis

Uh, that's a lot of sounds... I've noticed a few, but not that many?

Is it just specfic instruments? I've not had any problem loading an instrument (any instrument) into the first slot or channel, but anytime I try to load any patch into channels 2-16 it instantly crashes Sonar 3.1.1 (this is with the DXi version). With the VSTi version using VSTWrapper 4.whatever I can usually audition a few patches in the other channels before it pukes. No problems using multiple channels in FLStudio so far, however.

I've reported this on IKMultimedia's support page, so hopefully it's only a matter of time before a patch is released. It's one heck of a product, and once these few wrinkles are ironed out, I can see myself using it (well, one instance of it, anyway ;)) in every song I do. (Of course, I'll probably use it on every product I do even before the patch is released, as the Studio Drum Capsule is just so amazing).

There's no use mentioning on IK's support page. This is a sound issue. AND it is a sound issue on DISCONTINUED products even! In other words, the new "Expansion Tank" version 2s of these libraries and the Sonik Synth 2 are all redone in native ST2 format.

The base ST1 format can typically be read by ST2 without a problem, except in these cases where something we did, perhaps something unusual that worked well in ST1, is causing some bizarre behavior in ST2 LE depending on the host (from close to silent sounds to causing a crash).

Anyway, SR is providing a fix for the sounds for any users who have ST1 libraries from SR that have this issue in ST2 LE (which is brand new). Of course as of a week or so these products will no longer be available and only Expansion Tank versions will become available. These are version 2 without problems like that.

So, the fix disc will be a bonus disc too of extra sounds. This will be going out to ALL esoundz customers who bought any ST2 LE, L, XL or upgrade from us. Non-esoundz customers can also buy it as an upgrade (it has all of the update patches on it too for the ST2 versions).

Totally freakin awesome.

Finally had time to do a comprehensive test. I checked every sound using LE 2.0.7, and those that crashed LE I also tested using XL 2.0.6. This was tested on a 1.7 GHz / 1 Gbyte P4 WinXP Sony Vaio with M-Audio Firewire 410. [edit] I used the VSTi version with Ableton Live 4 as the host.

As far as LE goes, my results are practically identical to those posted by "codacoda" above, except I heard clicks for some codacoda calls silent. (Quiet clicks probably.) But XL was able to load and play many of the sounds that crashed LE. Of LE's clicking and silent presets, all did the same thing when played in XL.

Whew, that's a lot of sounds! Just a few clinkers...
