Well, R4 seems pretty damn excellent, so far. $149 is fairly tempting
to someone like me, who has no real sense of monetary value.

Anyone gonna go for it?

Between FabFilter Pro-R, ValhallaRoom, VintageVerb, Eventide Blackhole and Zynaptiq Adaptiverb, as well as EA R2, I don't see the need. And if you haven't got Pro-R or Adaptiverb, I would definitely get those first.

I'm not feeling it either. I'm really "verbed out" at the moment as I wasn't expecting to get R2. I feel that EAs upgrade model really hurts them here. I don't think that R4 is so much more than R2 that I really need it. R2 filled a hole for me as I don't have VintageVerb.

Well I redeemed R2 into my iLok License Manager and will see how I feel about dingle dangle dongles later in the year

It's free - I can't use it! - but it's free... hard to complain about I guess.

For users of R2 on Mac:

Please be careful with R2 in Logic X because there is a bug.
When using R2 from buss like send effect if you have a mono channel that is routed to R2 on the buss it will work mono with some weird phases.

The same problem has Reverbical because those plugins that was made in Juice have that problem in Logic Pro X only. Solution is to put some stereo plugin like Gain before R2 on the buss, and on this way problem will be solved.

I purchased R2 focusrite licence in marketplace from some nice guy.
Was planning to upgrade to R4 but now I changed my mind. Bad strategy Exponential audio...go ahead, remove it from my ilok account.

I disagree, even if the strategy seems a bit odd. Did you get a promo code for R4 sent to your own email ? I'll happily update R2 to R4, but so far, no code (i also bought a focusrite licence from someone on kvr).

Well, that's the threat. I have my doubts about follow through on that, but, I think that the (poor) assumption is that your name in your focusrite account should match the name in your iLok account. Therefore any iLok registration of the NFR from focusrite that is not in the list of names from focusrite is an invalid sale.

Matching emails definitely won't work. They're nuts if they think that it will. My emails are completely different for my two accounts. In fact, many vendors get a unique email address from me.

well I got the ilok dongle (before I had just the manager) and having installed it I think that was the right thing to do - it sounds distinct from my other reverbs.
