Apologies if this has been done, I'm just looking for a decent VST sequencer that will let me load my own samples in, to give me some more creative ways to create melodies, basslines, percussion. Something like ABL3 but that I can put my own sample wav files into? Thanks in advance...

Not a VST, but Giada seems to be what you are looking for:

FL Studio comes bundled with a VST version so it does not have to be re-wired. The piano roll has a lot of auto/randomized composition-oriented features and if you roll back to FL 11 you get very easy per-step modulation features in the step-sequencer. It also comes with a MPC emulator (FPC) too.

If you are enjoying demoing Redux you may just want to jump into Renoise itself. I do a lot of "sample mangling" in VSTs like Omni/Iris/etc... and am often adverse (or lazy) to "committing" to a final wav. render and Renoise, in addition to more complex sequencing, lets you host VSTs as well. Renoise is also my primary DAW (I moved from FL).

I find all of the above easier to work with than Geist 2 on my smaller laptop screen if that is a concern for you.
