I don't know, they were supposed to have one at the sac GC but they guy couldn't find it (maybe it got swiped, they are under construction and got rid of their door people a long time ago. )

For since there is no good financing and prices seem to be the same I'm going to just see about the MXR bass pre does with what I have.

Post

Oh, and the thing I really am intrigued about is the "faux" Fodera Contrabass thing :hihi:

Post

Man, I didn't know what expensive was.........

Sorry, but no

What the freak. You'd have to be a dumb bell to buy one of those.

:hihi:

Just so that you know, it's used by a lot of superstars (like John Mayer and Joe Bonemassa)

I'm perfectly happy with what I have thank god, I'd rather have a new car.

Post

Yeah but doesn't Bonemassa have every amp on the planet,

Actually I recall Dumble amps being a widely respected boutique amp from wayback.

That's about right.

I wouldn't have it, even if I was swimming in dough. That's insane. I thought they were in the 10k category, which is too much, but I thought it was first-world rich prices. I didn't realize it was only royalty :scared:

i'm getting a few more of the 'xiangqi' guitars, with paulownia body, but this time with fixed bridge.

if i had 10k for a guitar, it would be the sky guitar by uli roth.

Instead of starting a new thread I just wanted to mention I'm starting to become a tiny tad of pedal whore.

I've had my "polytune" for about a year (what a god-send) and will be taking delivery of an MXR bass pre sometime this week.

But I was listening to some clips of this:

And was thinking it sounds great!

The problem is I'm starting to worry about noise and signal loss.

Post

I have a pretty large board, which is actually torn up right now. But, getting a buffered pedal in the right spots cures the problem.

EDIT: I'm going to rebuild it with one of these

This is the current working layout. I have everything but the PBC and the extra Mondo power brick.

EDIT: Well, I need a shit load of patch cable still too.

Also, I'd just chime in on the $100k Dumble. A lot of times people just post things like that with stupid prices to gather queries. There is no actual intent to sell for that amount. There was a complete System 100 that was listed for like $250k or something last year. I believe it sold for $19k.

And yeah, maybe but still, that shit's crazy.

It's funny... I was playing around with Rush: Closer to the Heart on guitar. In the studio he had recorded it with three different guitars. On Stage he used a Gibson EDS-1275 Double neck. Trying to recreate his sound with my modest rig (Variax Standard into a Yamaha THRC tabletop amp) was ...well amusing. With my current rig I couldn't just switch all sounds at once. But with a Helix or Firehawk FX I could prolly pull off a convincing version live.

I wish I could get into pedal boards with individual boutique stomp boxes but I just can't. Back in the 70's and 80's I had a few they were all one trick ponies for me. When the Rockman hit the market I was sold. I'd gig with it all the time. Yes I know I sold my tone to the devil for the cheap thrill of convenience.
