Facility in language is not necessarily equal to facility in writing lyrics. Lyrics exist in a kind of quasi-aesthetic state. They are phrases played by a very versatile instrument, the human voice. When the phrases mean something, that's a different thing.

But these days, you can probably get away with just "baby baby baby oh baby", catering to our culture's erotomania.

The Odyssey was most likely sung, rather than recited. The Norse skald probably sang their insult duels.

You could adapt lyrics out of something else - I have lifted text out of Nelson Algren's "The Man With The Golden Arm" and Robert Stone's "A Hall Of Mirrors" and set it to my own music. Talking Heads used dadaist Hugo Ball's tone poem "I Zimbra" for the basis of a song that did pretty well. At the same time, Eno lifted a performance by dadaist Kurt Schwitters for the piece "Kurt's Rejoinder" on "Before and After Science."

You have vast horizons in front of you - if you have something to say.

I don't write lyrics because I have too much to say and it is all inchoate. Plus the fact that singing makes me cry. Anything. That's pretty weird, huh?

Also, please note that Lisa Gerrard, a magnificent vocalist, predominently sings in idioglossia, an invented language.

But she changes from day to day

Meaning that it could someday be the consensus?

If only they could make a device that could measure that, like a blood pressure monitor. I just now had the urge to write a song and call it "I Wanna Be Ambidextrous (But It's Hard)". It would be in the musical as well as lyrical style of the Ramones.

When the right hand is kind of linked to the left brain hemisphere and vice versa, there should be some sort of difference since there are some odd facts about left-handed people. (Jail inmates, US presidents, artists, etc.)

I don't think the test linked is any good, some questions don't make much sense to me, like:
"Are you romantic and/or is beauty and luxury important to you?"
What's the point of 'and/or' mean in that question?

Or:
"Are you interested in music, painting, dance and other artistic expressions?"
I like music, but I don't give a crap about the rest.

It's exactly the quality of a KVR parody thread if you ask me
