Anybody have experience with one or more of these iOS modulars? Got a favorite? I'd love to hear your opinions of the relative pros and cons. Please feel free to add if I've missed any.

Moog Model 15 has by far the best sound and midi option which are important for me. But since you are limited to one module it´s actually more a semi-modular synth. At least you have audio in/out options via audiobus/IAA.
Sunvox is a beast but maybe not the most user friendly. But if you like trackers you might feel home here.
Audulus is great too but i find it much more usable on my mac.
ZMors is a beast too but i doesn´t liked the workflow too much.
I don´t tryed the others here.
But the Moog Model 15 app sounds just so good. For me the best sounding synth inside the iOS world so far.

I've also had the same thought about the Model 15 re: modular vs. semi-modular. I guess technically it is modular, but it's just so much more rigid than other modulars I've worked with. I guess I'm just a spoiled brat of the digital/software age heh.

That said, it does sound great. I just don't like how much the cables clutter the interface.

Why is Audulus less usable on iOS? And what is your beef with the zMors workflow? It's similar to Audulus, no? I have no experience with the latter.

I don't use an iPad anymore yet but i remember that i found it all to fiddely. Maybe on an iPad pro it feels better. But i could say the same about Model 15, especially on my iPhone.
I still find in general that small multi-touch screens are not the right thing for modulars.
I agree about the cables....i wished they doesn't emulated it and made a mod matrix instead (or both). We are digital!

To be fair, I don't think a mod matrix would solve the problem. Mod matrices are really for routing modulation sources and not audio, but in the Model 15 (and all modulars, really) the distinction isn't so black and white.

At a minimum, thinner cables, tighter cables, or the ability to adjust the cables' opacity would be sufficient to make the interface feel less cluttered for me.

True....Bazille shows how it can work!
But for me is a mod matrix often just a shorter and faster way to do the same things i "try" to do with Model 15. It's just another GUI.
But if you connects 100+ modules it would be not so good anymore of course.
Some of the Audulus patches looks like a whole universe :D
I also like Mitosynth's way with limitless number of dials.
But yes, Model 15 is no real modular (yet).

I'm pretty sure if you double tap the screen with two fingers on the Model 15, the cables will become transparent. I actually forgot that I read that somewhere a little while back, & literally just now thought about it again as I was reading this thread, so I haven't tried it to see how it works or anything. And this might be common knowledge-- I'm terrible about not reading manuals or going through the little "introduction" tutorials on stuff like this. Just in case it's not an obvious feature (as it wasn't to me, since I just went straight into the synth & started playing around, without any instruction), I figured I'd mention it, in case it's helpful to anyone.

Many months late, but somehow I am only replying now. Just wanted to say that this tip is awesome! And it definitely solves the clutter problem. Thanks!
