Yes. Benoit waits for a stable enough 64-bit-edition of Synthedit to port his products to 64-bit. Let's cross the fingers...wagtunes wrote:See, now this is a really nice list. The most underestimated synths...

These are not necessarily top notch synths of the world, some have even better competitors by other brands... but in that list above, they all are authentically underestimated. And I have many other examples...
- AAS - String Studio (wonderful and yet very rarely mentioned at KVR)
- AudioRealism - ReDominator
- Benoit Serrano - Anubis 2
- Benoit Serrano - Cosmos
- Benoit Serrano - Dionysos EX
- Benoit Serrano - Hades XT
- Benoit Serrano - Horus (and Horus MK-II)
- Benoit Serrano - Orpheus (and Orpheus 2)
- Benoit Serrano - Selena
- Cescato - Trans Computer Maschine
- Gunnar Ekornas - Messiah
- Kenneth Rundt - Synthfont (incredibly good in its special domain)
- KX77Free - KX-Modulad
- KX77Free - KX-Polymod
- KX77Free - KX-Polym-CSE
- KX77Free - KX-Synth-X16
- LinPlug - Octopus (it has been discontinued precisely BECAUSE if its huge underestimation)

- Wolfgang Palm - Plex2
- XILS-LAB Oxium
I just love the KX-synth-x16 !

I don't think that's entirely true - it's a great plugin and I think it was well received when it came out but people lost interest in it because it got no further development for a long long time and it became clear there was no prospect of development because the original coder had moved onto other projects (which also seem to have been neglected, Maxx Claster appears to have a habit of flitting from one great idea to another but never following through).BlackWinny wrote: [*]LinPlug - Octopus (it has been discontinued precisely BECAUSE if its huge underestimation)

Yes, Xavier is one of the first (perhaps even THE first) to take the risk to produce a brand new 64bit edition of his synths. The purpose is not only to give this pleasure to the users but also because it is the most efficient solution to deepen the beta tests of the port of Synthedit itself.sfd wrote:Hey, wait ! Synthedit 1.2 in 64-bit begins to be qualified as stable, but it remains yet instabilities and strange behaviors. We talk about these remaining flaws in our Synthedit-developers mailing list. And Xavier shows us a true courage to involve himself in these last beta tests by the production of his own synths already in 64-bit.

You are partially right, but it is also true that Linplug has finished to be fed up of the huge disinterest of the people about this synth. Same thing about Alpha: Alpha was a very good analog synth but there was very few purchasers, and in addition, very few sound designers have produced something for these two synths. In fact, for Octopus there has been even only ONE sound designer who produced something. And Octopus as well as Alpha have NEVER reached any REAL interest in the KVR forums as well as at Gearluts and the other places. Even despite excellent reviews from magazines.aMUSEd wrote:I don't think that's entirely true - it's a great plugin and I think it was well received when it came out but people lost interest in it because it got no further development for a long long time and it became clear there was no prospect of development because the original coder had moved onto other projects (which also seem to have been neglected, Maxx Claster appears to have a habit of flitting from one great idea to another but never following through).BlackWinny wrote: [*]LinPlug - Octopus (it has been discontinued precisely BECAUSE if its huge underestimation)
We must be honest: Linplug is almost never mentioned in the KVR forums, except when they release a brand new synth. Then the product totally disappears in the forums, these ones being loaded by in fact very few developers. I don't criticize these developers, they do excellent works... but the forum threads talk in fact of very few developers and the crowd of the others are discussed in extremely minimal surfaces.
And by the way, it is also a reason for me to join those who say that there are synths which are overestimated. The activity of our forums turns in permanence with almost always the products of the same developers. That's of course good for them, and nobody won't disagree if I say that they merit such a great fame... but it hides a huge activity of developers which are almost never mentioned (except for a few days when they release a new product) despite their great quality.

For me it´s Mitosynth (iOS) since it is still one of my favorite synths to create unique soundscapes and weird pads within minutes. No desktop synth which costs 20 times more can do what this little synth can do.
I can go outside and record straight some sounds into it and use them for creating a patch.
I can use 32 sound sources for one patch (it is a kind of vector synthesis on steroids).
Combine that with additive and drawable waveforms and you get some fun for a few bucks.
It has a great tagging system and it´s easy to share and import patch banks including samples with 1 (or maybe 2 clicks).
I also love the way modulations works. It can get really fast and easy really complex. Unlimted LFO´s (polyphonic, mono, legato, whatever you want) everywhere. 4 XY pads (2 on iPhones) where i can assign as many parameters as i want.
I mean why can´t any of my big desktop tools can do this?
It hasn´t the best synth engine, FX (but the tube resonance is brilliant) filters and can´t do things like audio rate modulations but damn i would pay 150-200 if i could get that as plug-in.
This little thing can sound more "complex" and beautiful than a lot expensive synths on my notebook/desktop.

Maybe Linplug's horrible site doesn't help, either...
It seems like a rather distant, absent, anonymous company, much like Air. I am not sure most people appreciate that...

Can anyone tell me how to download and install Farbrausch V2 VSTi?
I've found a few pages which are either very technical or flagged with security warnings

Two synths that are good, but I almost never use them: Z3ta+ 2 and DiscoDSP Discovery Pro.
Always that I use I find nice things about it. But I still don't use them a lot, don't know exactly why.

Is Diversion underestimated?
A synth I always demo again and again and always miss the sale and I feel like it doesn't get the love it should, but I could be wrong.

Yea. Interface. I actually adore it, but could do with some resizing options. Weird that you can hold+drag on most things, yet no mouse-wheel support.
I always felt this was too close to Zebra (pardon!) in some ways like all the wave-drawing and wave-form effects, while Zebra is simply more established and supported. Might be wrong to take KVR as a general index, but still.

I don't know. All i can say is that i probably would use it a lot more, if it wouldn't hack my CPU into pieces, whenever i apply unison.emotica wrote:Is Diversion underestimated?
