Soft iLok is possibly ok for freebies or sub 15$ plugins. There's maybe two companies I'd ever consider paying more than that for a iLok plugin, and Liquidsonics isn't one of them. But a dongle in 2017? You gotta be f*cking kidding me.

Yes, and the reason they give is so funny...
While I'm typing this I download the Waves IR library for IR-1 which I purchased yesterday...liquidsonics wrote:the reason is the significant amount of piracy of Reverberate 2 and the subsequent pressure to serve 10GB+ samples to people not contributing to the business puts a lot of pressure on for data distribution so I am trying to reduce the effect of piracy for the new release. Crackers hack the plugins and then point to the .com for the Fusion-IRs, and that can't continue for a release like this even despite a very significant (and costly) server upgrade recently to keep up with demand.

I love (and own) Reverberate 2. One of the big selling features was the customer-friendly copy protection.
Matt, I read your reasons for choosing iLok and I respect your decision. However, I simply refuse to use iLok (soft or hard) controlled plugins. I've been burned too many times in the past by such unpleasant tools. I will say that would have seriously considered this plugin were it covered under a more customer-friendly copy protection mechanism. Even so I wish you the best and I hope you can recoup some of the losses from piracy with this choice.

Good luck with that Approach.
If I first demoed all those hundreds of plugins I purchased I'm not sure how many there'd be in my folder right now -
probably not even a third of those I got...
but then again perhaps I'd then be more inclined to consider 7th Heaven despite the dongle...
As it is you gotta try a lot harder to trigger my GAS - after all it's not like you attempt to sell the first reverb plugin ever.
What about a small demo-library b.t.w.? Should that not suffice to showcase the amazing quality of the product in quedtion?

This! Like I've said many times, I'm constantly trying to make my setup leaner and keep less and less stuff. Despite this if I'd never bought another plugin I'd still have more plugins than I'd ever need. I'm pretty well covered with very high quality plugins in every category like EQ's, compressors, reverb, delays and so on. So there really must be something appealing for me to get another reverb or EQ or whatever. Frankly, if it says PACE on the tin, even if soft iLok, it's almost certainly an instant no-buy, and immediately out of consideration. And there's a snowball's chance in hell I'd be paying extra 80$ for dongle.jens wrote: As it is you gotta try a lot harder to trigger my GAS - after all it's not like you attempt to sell the first reverb plugin ever.![]()

Get a 2nd hand iLok USB. I paid $20 for an iLok2 and $35 for an iLok3, shipped, 2nd hand. That made getting into the iLok game a lot more palettable.
For me personally it's not at all about the cost of the dongle. I just don't like it and this I decided I won't use it. It's not something to argue about either - it's just a no go for me and that's it - and - and that's the point - it is a choice I can well afford, as I have far too many plugins anyway.

Jens,
The way I see it this one is designed to not only emulate the sound of the Bricasti M7 but also much of the work flow (as far as you can with convolution model anyway).
The pro market probably has a fair few users looking for exactly that, and aspiring types too.
I'm not going to buy any hardware iLok products either, but no complaints, Reverberate 2 is iLok free and a fine plugin. For those that want the M7 experience it is going to be several times the price of this even for a used unit, if they can find a used one at all.

If you are outside the EU is it not possible to exclude VAT from the order?
I see from the support pages that EU VAT registered companies can exclude it but it doesn't seem to exclude for non-EU purchasers

Which, incidentally, loads wonderfully in Reverberate 2. I have IR-L and was considering IR-1 until I tried loading the Waves IRs in Reverberate 2.jens wrote: While I'm typing this I download the Waves IR library for IR-1 which I purchased yesterday...
From what I've read, they (wir files) are just wav files with a modified header and it's fairly easy to un-modify them, but, since I can load them in Reverberate, I don't care.
I make no secret of the fact that I prefer iLok over C/R, so, given that Reverberate 2 was pirated as much as it apparently was, I completely support the choice to go with iLok and I'm much happier about that than I would be with most alternatives.
I'll demo seventh heaven at some point.

You can load the in reverberate without even changing the header? Is this library available to anyone or do you need to own the Waves IR plugin?ghettosynth wrote:Which, incidentally, loads wonderfully in Reverberate 2.
