sticky LS notes

Hi, recently I started getting stuck notes *on the linnstrument itself*. I have read that it is a problem of old hardware, but why do the lights stay lit on the linnstrument if it is just the sound source? I am using channel per note on the DIN MIDI out with pitch bend (no aftertouch / pressure).

Notes also stick without a sound source and using the USB jack... i.e. using only a midi monitor on a macbook pro to inspect the messages being sent. '12' is the channel and the other number is the bend value even though I'm not touching any pad.

I can imagine two possible issues.
a) MIDI loop - data sent fro LS being fed back to it but that seems to be unlikely in your case, PB wouldn't get retriggered that way,
b) some mechanical factor, i.e. pads around too tightly screwed top metal frame being pressed hard or some stuff under the silicon sheet.
Are the stuck notes random location-wise or it's a certain group of notes?
By stuck note, do you mean having note-on event but not followed by note-off event?

@48cube
Thanks for the ideas:
a) I was only using the DIN MIDI out jack so I don't think that could happen...using a monitor, I checked that the USB wasn't also secretly sending notes, it wasn't.
b) I haven't adjusted the screws / removed the silicon since buying it new... so I can't imagine any junk being under it to interfere with playing.
-It seems the the same notes were getting stuck... am I playing 'too hard'? I have the LS set to high sensitivity but reaching full velocity requires 'banging' in comparison to other pad controllers (i.e. korg padkontrol, launchpad pro).
-Yes, looking at the monitor it seems that note off events are not being sent. Tapping other notes around the stuck note sometimes gets it to stop.

Hi t*******,
This is a support issue. It is better to email me with a brief video that clearly demonstrates the problem.

I've had mine about two years and have had similar issues. Mine started shortly after I got it, but I loved it so much I could not send it back for replacement since I did not want to be without it. Mine started with a C and now G and occasionally a D. I play this thing everyday and it is never turned off so I'm not complaining so much as pointing out that this seems to be a mechanical issue since it is usually the same keys. If I hit a couple of notes close to the stuck key it usually lets go further making it seem to be a mechanical issue. It can be aggravating when you're in the middle of a great take lol! But what a tool this thing is. I'm writing music that could never be written any other way. Thanks Roger. It's all your fault lol! Love you my friend!

Hi Bird,
I'm sorry about the problem. Can you email me at the support address to learn more? If the problem is happening now, a video demonstrating the problem would be helpful.
Also, there are two FAQs that may be helpful about this problem on the LinnStrument FAQ page, Problems tab:
"Sometimes when I press hard on one specific note pad on the playing surface and release it, the note (and the pad's light) stays on after release. Further, pressing one of the adjacent pads around it will often turn this stuck note (and the pad's light) off. What's wrong?"
...and...
"One pad on the upper or lower rows is sticking on. What's wrong?"

FYI also a possibility that it could be your VSTi or DAW that is causing the hangs.
I have had that happen before, and it was the software causing problems not the hardware.
You can diagnose it by connecting another midi controller via midi jacks not USB since that's what you are having issues with.
