bossa mi asno
So go ahead, rip me a new one if you like....I can take it, I have very thick skin! I did this about a year ago, if memory serves (big if!) gear was as follows:
BOSS DS-330 "Dr Synth" GM module
Alesis D4
Roland U220
Alesis MIDIverb
Mackie LM3204 mixer
Logic Audio Mac 2.0
"...I thought MUSIC mattered...but it was bollocks."

With the equipment you have stated here I understand why it sounds so terribly GM'ish and like one of those PSR-demo's.
The arrangement itself isn't half bad, but I'd dare you to take up this project again with todays available plugs and remake this one. Make me feel I can close my eyes and nip off a cocktail hearing the oceans waves rhythmically ooze me into a carribean sleep.
Not bad, just the choice of sounds that makes me cringe a bit. Sorry; just my opinion

Actually, I have to one-up Mystahr and say that the arrangement is very good. And anyone who thinks this has cringeworthy sounds hasn't had enough experiences with home electronic organs with bossa rhythm boxes from the 60's and 70's!

But yeah, updating the sounds could do wonders for it. And it could all be free software sources: two that come to mind would be MDA ePiano and IxoxFlute. But instrumentation is a personal thing...

I would definitely do this over with some better sounds. This is a very nice and relaxing tune. Maybe you could try Sampletank2 Free or Plugsound's Free module to get some of the traditional instrumentation. For the synths ther's almost to many freebies to name.

Thanks guys, I was sitting here wondering whether it was just too lame to even comment on. I agree the soundz are very PSR. But that's sort of the spirit it was done in--elevator music with a twist of jaaaath.
OK, so this one's worth a redo. I'm getting SR Studio Drum Capsule w/ST2LE "real soon now", so that should give me some realistic perc.
Also it's short, can anybody give some structural advice to get to 3 minutes? I'm more or less satisfied with the theme, middle, and outro (least of all the outro), but it needs....more.

Also the title was sort of a joke as well. "Bossa mi asno" was supposed to sound like "kiss my ass" in Spanish (besa=kiss) but afterward I learned that I was just ignorant: asno is donkey, whereas culo is ass. What I get for trying to be funny.... I actually took Spanish twice in grade school, and I've lived in FL most of my years, you'd think I'd have a clue....heck, even Jeb speaks fluently...maybe I need to spend more time in Ybor...?

if your intent was to transport me into the depths of Holiday Inn lounge hell , you have succeeded admirably ...

Reminds me of my childhood in Soviet Union. We didn't have commercials on TV (can you believe this?), so when there was some time between programs they showed beautifull nature landscapes with similar to "bossa mi asno" music in the background.
I agree with "GM" sound comments though.
