Adam Green, Daniel Johnston, Captain Beefheart, Lou Reed. Not sure why, maybe because English is abstract language for me.
I'm somewhat allergic for pompous lyrics, many songs, widely considered great, just irritate me.

)Maybe just how Crenshaw sings it, doesn't matter obviously, songs are there to be interpreted. Never heard that version though so will track it down, thanks! The GoBetweens Robert Forster does a good version if you're interested.
