You got an invoice number when you bought the plug, if you can find that, you can log into https://www.discodsp.net/members/ and download your product still.

I managed to do that yesterday, getting Vertigo 3.2 (latest version is 3.6, but I am not eligible for that, as I have not upgraded).

I hate to say this but you may have to consider using another synth in its place, especially if it's a time sensitive project. There is no telling when or even if there will be any word on what's going on.

I hate to say this but you may have to consider using another synth in its place, especially if it's a time sensitive project. There is no telling when or even if there will be any word on what's going on.

Know what? Will you stop being an ass for once in your life?

1) He has the VST. It's his license that's expired. Downloading another copy of the VST isn't going to fix that.

2) If he has a time sensitive project and can't get it working, considering an alternative is probably a wise thing to do.

Just goes to show that you are not first user that should chime in when it comes to trouble shooting.

If Vertigo bought recently, a license file should be attached to the message the user got as receipt from Digital River/discodsp. So it can be retrieved from that, as long as the user is keeping such messages stored, which I believe most of us will do.

If like me, having bought Vertigo back in the day, when discodsp didn't use license files, what is needed is to find the invoice number, to use to login into the members area, to download the product.

Except he HAS the file. It was working and NOW it's NOT. Retrieving another license file, unless the one he has got corrupted somehow OR deleted, is NOT going to solve the problem.

Regardless, if he DOESN'T have the info he needs to log in or, for whatever reason, the procedure doesn't work for him, having an alternative solution is NOT a stupid idea.

I gotta keep reminding myself to just keep you on f**king ignore.

I gave the member sound advice. Have a backup plan.

Why?

1) He doesn't know whether or not he has his information for the purchase.

2) He has a project to do that may or may not be time sensitive.

3) He doesn't know when he's going to hear from the developer if he has a problem he can't solve on his own.

4) A license should not just stop working. If it did, there is more going on here than just downloading a new file. My DiscoDSP stuff still works fine. So something more is going on here.

So for offering sound advice, you jump all over my case.

Seriously? If it really would be a "grave personal issue", why would he delete his company's Facebook and Youtube pages? Looks like a classic business shutdown to me, without letting any customer know.
