Hi Everyone,
It's Friday night and I'm kicking back after a busy week at work and with a few days to mull-over the competition and also one or two Wild Turkeys having already been sunk, ... Mmmmm,... Ooh Yeahhh..., that's better .......... (Burrp) OK .... so here I go ......
I would like to offer a big thankyou and especially acknowlege the following people:
Freestar,
Farluker,
duncan parsons,
plunge,
Knockman,
Dave Spiers,
Mystahr,
kp2000,
GuitarJeff,
Thomasc_dk,
Haghi, and also
Sascha Frank.
Why? Is it because you all presented outstanding entries in the August comp? (well actually, most of you did), but no, the reason that I want to thank you guys is because you were all prepared to recently sink a lot of your valuable time into reviewing everyone's entries. (I trust I haven't missed anyone) ...
We all know that this is no small undertaking.
For people (like me), who, up until now, have not been that much involved in an on-line community before, I have really enjoyed and have been impressed, not only by the standard of your own craft but also by the level of your committment to the interests of others who are making their (sometimes first) on-line contribution.
For most of us, our motives may perhaps be to gain some recognition, although for that to occur, we have all needed to 'bare our goods', and in the process, risk having our egos battered and our reputations deconstructed ...(that is, if we have already constructed one)...
I certainly haven't agreed to all of my reviews, however, we all know that that's not really the point. Opinion pivots on knowledge and choice, experience and discernment.
(Waxing Lyrical now - if not already) ...
That's the catalyst for the pain and gain associated with the involuntary and very necessary expression of our wonderful God-given talents.
I said to my good friend recently, 'It's not the destination that's as important as is the learning process that happens during the journey getting there...'
Guys, this forum is a relevant and wonderfully valuable component in that journey. It's definitely worth the effort and the angst, the musing and the oftentimes amusing, but remember, it's also about the music!
Thanks again guys!
Come on September! - As long as it's not Trance -!! (What did you say it was again)?

i know its not really my effort - but still i would like to thank everyone who voted for spyros track with my vox init
thanks for everyone who complimented me on my voice - it's really the only thing i feel i have some talents in
my music making and painting and writing are mediocre as well as the things i do (work) in regular life compared to who i really would like to be
receiving compliments gives me a feeling I'm really capable of something
- sorry i (again) didn't review
this was a hectic month for me. Compliments on everyone's track ! Some tracks are outstanding in mix out (such as LJ or kriminals track) while others are really first-rate when it comes to creativity or extensive musical work out (beardedone and wopelka and Dave Spiers come to mind)
this months competition made me feel very small but also proud to be part of an ever progressing collective of hyper talented musicians
thanks.

Just found out (as a newbie I am) that I've got to have 20 posts to join the competition :
"5 - voting (members must have at least 20 posts to vote) will run from the submission deadline until 6pm BST (GMT+1) on tuesday 31st august - anyone voting for themselves will find ALL their votes disqualified - any entrants not voting will also be disqualified."
Ok, this is post nr. 4. I'm on the travel in this weekend and can't gossip 16 more posts for no reason.
Then I'm out of the competition. A bit strange rule in my opinion (as a newcomer).

that rule was introduced purely as a reaction to stopping people possibly getting their mates to sign up to K-v-R just to vote for them ...

First, reply to my reply, saying thanks for the tip, then find 15 more posts from here and all should be well!

Back to the covers thing again: I was thinking it would be interesting to do a covers month where you had to cover another KvR monthly contest submission.
Oh and Donks, your weezily prog arse track is daft! it's almost a *good* song. Almost.
@ sttjelle - I think the 20 post min is only for voters who don't enter the contest. Anyone who enters a song can have as few posts as they wish. Isn't that the unsaid rule?

@ Mo Verdigast: Is Pantonia where they bottle the shampoo or make those funny little books full of colors and numbers?
