What kind of instrument /patch is used to create those typical deep/discohouse basslines ?

what about bazziod from maxx cluster
or iblit / polyiblit is good for basses.

I´d suggest you can take many of good bass synths, and equalize the sound,
but I´m notmuch in deep house.

Just about any VA can do those...It´s just a matter of programming...
Try to make a throbbing bass sound(like a PWM modulated square with a detuned saw or similar) full sustain and a low filter cutoff...When the walls begin to shake you´ve nailed it!
