[UPDATE] After reading the Music Studio manual, I am finally able to get MIDI onto GarageBand for iOS. In the MIDI section of the Setup tab in Music Studio, you go into "Ports & Channels" and set the MIDI out channel to TRACKS. In GarageBand, go into Advanced, enable "send MIDI clock" (a definite must) and "run in background" (I think) in order to record the MIDI properly. You don't have to leave GarageBand for the track to be recorded.

No need to use Midiflow or Audiobus to do that. I guess I have to ask for a refund since I spent too much.

From the User Manual of Music Studio (http://www.xewton.com/musicstudio/doc/? ... nels_popup):
Tip: To use Music Studio as a sequencer for other background apps or external devices, set MIDI OUT to TRACKS to send each track’s notes to the MIDI channel corresponding to its track number. Configure other apps to receive MIDI IN from a specific channel to select the track.
But the catch is you can only record one track at a time. There's no support for multitrack MIDI recording (or import) yet, so you must solo one track in Music Studio before you record, if not a bunch of MIDI data from other tracks will get merged into one recording track in GarageBand.

I guess I solved my own problem by reading the manual. This post is for users who want to send MIDI data to GarageBand for iOS (this solution is not free at the moment, Music Studio (with Audiobus 3 support) costs $14.99), until Apple implements proper MIDI import/export in a future update.

Original text:

The only reason for me using GarageBand iOS is because Logic Pro can open GarageBand iOS projects and I can finish songs from there "easily".

But there's one obstacle. Lack of midi import (iOS only). I tried by "importing" a .mid file from iCloud Drive into GarageBand, but the file is greyed out.

Next, I spent S$50 ($36) on Audiobus 3 (since I heard it can send MIDI data) and Midiflow (main app and adapter for CoreMIDI, since I believe GarageBand has CoreMIDI) and Music Studio by Xewton (Audiobus 3 compatible), and tried to follow this youtube tutorial () and some others, but no midi file is being recorded. The best thing after a lot of tinkering with GarageBand's advanced settings for MIDI was the playing along of Music Studio's MIDI imported file when I pressed play in GarageBand. But no recording of MIDI data.

I don't know what to do.
