Strummed acoustic 2 is un-freaking-believable

This totally blew my mind. It sounds even better than the real thing. This library is a must have. The versatility of rhythms, the feel, the tone of the bass real smooth and deep.

I hope they use this same technology to do a Strat guitar, Scarbee has no feel. I haven't heard a real sounding electric guitar strummer yet. Maybe they will.

Sounds pretty cool. That 12 string is nice. Back in the day my father had a Guild F50 jumbo that looked like that except 6-string. Man, what a sound. Lotta songs written on that thing.

I wonder if he's confusing the NI Strummed Acoustic 2 with AAS GS-2. GS-2 has both acoustic and electric, and is physically modeled so not exactly authentic-sounding -- but has its fans who aren't really going for realism anyway.

It's a sampled acoustic guitar. Where's the confusion? All this talk about "modeled" and "circuits". It's a freaking sampled guitar.

It's a very nice sound, but I still don't think anyone's quite nailed the randomness of actual guitar playing yet - the little timing inaccuracies, the velocity variations, the truncated notes etc.

Of course to the vast majority of people it will do what's intended - sound like a strummed acoustic guitar. To me it still sounds a bit fake. They're getting better though; increasingly hard to spot.

Sadly version 1 of strummed acoustic sounds way better than my actual acoustic being recorded direct. Like Kihn said, "even better than the real thing".

I agree, but that's because I think ALL sampled guitars sound 'fake' (to one degree or another). To get all that authentic juicy guitar-goodness I think you need to oversample with as many round-robins as possible. For example www.samplesoundbank.com tries that:
picked electric strum: 7 RRs
student nylon strum: 7 RRs
songwriter's strum: 6 RRs
bright nylon strum: 4 RRs
e.g. the demo on: https://samplesoundbank.com/1963-student-nylon-guitar/ it's hilarious that that could be quite believable in a mix even though it is triggered with midi as single notes and not strummed chord samples.
But the same goes for any sampled guitar instrument I use in a mix. You might have to alter the strumming pattern or other factor to find the most realistic technique for that instrument.
