That's a nice video. I like the description of 'Big Bad PWM Bass - stereo spread unison' at 4:48 :hihi:

At 4:30 I see 'David Bettys Eyes'...I wanna hear that. 8)

I remember testing some synth (don't remember what it was) that had such pan controls as well, but the order was always the same. So if you played, say, two notes, waited, played two more notes, waited, etc., it was as if the notes were glued to two pan positions (because the counter was reset), rather than randomly popping up across the panorama. Not sure I made myself understood, hard to describe :?
Your talking about the Voice allocation method.

And indeed on poly synth's with voice panning it's more important than on poly synth's with mono-output.

So, optimally the RP5 should have some options to choose the VAM.

Hehehe, while we have a vast array of options under the hood, Repro-1 and Repro-5 are about *carefully* chosen enhancements to the underlying circuit models (Sequential basically built their synths on the example circuits that came with the chips they used) as well as to the design concepts of the architecture. The result is supposed to be as close to the references as possible, but offer a few things one would expect from us.

I know that many people think we're over-engineering things all the time, so this time we're extra careful to not make things too complicated. It takes a lot for me to resist the itch!

In Repro-5 does clicking the HOST SYNC button change the RATE knob into a CLOCK knob? Just wondering where the Clock knob went. I really like the Clock knob in Repro-1.

Yes. It doesn't need a dedicated clock because no arp/seq.

When does the Zebra 2.8 beta start?

Looking at the video in the OP again, it struck me that Urs could by Jarvis Cocker in disguise, evidence:

Have there been any updates re: release date for Zebra 2.8?

We decided to go forth and add the newly developed preset browser (with search functionality and stuff) to Repro-5 and Zebra 2.8. This has set us back for a month or so, but we're seeing a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. It's a vast improvement in preset management, it'll be worth the extra wait.

I am hoping/assuming that this is also why the last Diva beta is not a Release Candidate version as yet?

Yes, that and a few fixes in the VST3 layer (preset names being forgotten when saved with project)

Actually, we have decided to make the browser work with all plug-ins, even those that do not need tag based search. Which contributes a bit to the hold up, but as I said, it's going to be pretty good already for an initial feature set.

Thanks for the update. I'm sure the newly developed preset browser will be worth the wait. :)

Wow!
The resemblance is uncanny! :o
And not one comment in reply to it since May?!
Did the uhe fanbois take it the wrong way?
Personally I found it spot-on and hilarious - and I'm also a fanboi!! :hihi:
(Note: Urs doesn't look nearly as looney tunes as Cocker, so there's that  )
