Another question:
is this the correct configuration in the CFG-File --> look pic
I believe not, because my vb303 Shows no reaction, when I press the key on my Keyboard.

ok...now it works. The problem is the virtual piano in cubase. It´s mandatory to use a midi/usb piano to activate the option "ALL MIDI IN" in midi preferences...B23 = RUN/STOP

You are right, it's a bit finicky but when it works it SOUNDS great, my advise is to just take your time and input the seq in VB303 and save those. This way you don't have to use the midiplay and all the hassle that comes with it.
And your projects will play straight away after loading which is also a plus

Hello Guys,
this ia really a great PlugIn. What about a MIDI-Controller for this? I build one with all 24 buttons and 7 knobs for the sound control. I build this because i want the feel of a TB303 in programming. it is kidding me to program it with the keyboard. The only problem i had is to figure out the MIDI CC of the Waveform Switch. Does anybody know it? Click on the link below to see a short Demo.

Hi everybody. Fisrt off, a big shout out to Antto's awesome tb-303 emulator. Sounds great and works pretty fine.
I had it running on my computer for a while and was loving it, but last week I had to reinstall my OS and lost some stuff.
I'm trying to install (unpack) the VST Venom VB-303 and I'm having issues on extracting the files and folders correctly. I'm using the exact same zip as before, downloaded from Antto's website, but by some unexplainable reason, when I unzip it, it doesn't deploys the cfg file, the patterns folder is completely empty, the SEM folder does not exist..Inside the VB-303 folder there's just the EMPTY.nsm file.
I would really appreciate if someone could share the already extracted files and folders, or by some way could help me extracting it correctly. I'm running windows 10, single user, admin. Thanks a lot, in advance.
Cheers

HI, i'm an idiot and I need guidance. How to plant a tree? I have a seed in my hand and there's land all over here. Do I just plant a seed in the ground? Or maybe I should dig a little hole before I plant it? Gosh my mouth is getting dry... do I drink some water to keep them moist?
it's just a rude misinterpretation, of course. To show how ridiculous these days people can get. I don't get it. Do you know how to wipe your own arse ffs? :/

See page 3 of the manual. The cfg file is generated after your DAW has scanned VB-303.stillsteps wrote:...I'm trying to install (unpack) the VST Venom VB-303 and I'm having issues on extracting the files and folders correctly. Thanks @1wob2many .
I had done this already, cause it obviously seemed the right thing to do, but when the daw scanned the plugin, a series of errors appeared and the plugin came with blacked out buttons and not functioning. I tried again today and it worked somehow.. Maybe because, in the meantime I have installed other softwares and some C++ libraries..
Regarding our colleague (DuHx) above, unfortunately people are indeed getting pretty stupid and do not have enough internal strength to be kind to others. Maybe he should go and have a sunbath and ice cream cone.
Peace.

If your VST folder is inside one of the program files folders, the plugin won't be able to create it's files until you change the permission settings of the folder to allow the plugin to create the files. This is caused by a Windows security feature Microsoft originally added in Windows Vista.stillsteps wrote:Thanks @1wob2many .

Here's the instructions for how to change the folder settings from the Synthedit website (it references Windows 7 and Vista but it's the same for Windows 8 and 10 too):
By default Windows 7 and Vista do not allow saving to your VST Plugins folder. This prevents SynthEdit VSTs from extracting embedded SEMs to disk. You can fix this by changing the folder's Permissions:
- Use Windows Explorer to browse to your VST Plugins folder.
- Right-click the folder - 'Properties'
- Choose 'Security' tab.
- Click 'EDIT' (You may need to click a UAC prompt).
- Select username "Users".
- Tick options Allow 'Write' and 'Modify'.
- To finish Select 'OK' to close the two dialog boxes.
Here's the link to the relevant section of the Synthedit FAQ page: http://www.synthedit.com/members/versio ... /#windows7
Hope that helps.

having an internal sequencer present is nice, but at the expense of a nagware routine that eliminates 90% of those who might use this plugin.![]()
the same people who will use venom vb-303 also probably own a xoxbox or a hardware 303, and therefore would have no need for a plugin anyway.![]()
it would be a shame to leave it that way, nobody is using this plugin as it is. it's already freeware, but it would probably be newsworthy if the crippleware routine were eliminated on a subsequent release.![]()
Pros:
its genius programming.
it sounds great.
Cons:
the gui is too small.
i don't use the plugin because it contains malicious code (the midi play cripple routine)
in short, my feeling is the developer is very talented and a genius, but he is also a bit cheeky.
A bit cheeky? Maybe a control freak? I feel like he only wants us to use it HIS way. Kind of like making a right-handed human only use her left hand on the mouse. Unfortunately people think and process information differently. I appreciate the way antto thinks, and his plugin is great; however, I can't even get this thing to save my work. Yes, that is mostly on me, but having features turned off is like owning a Ferrari that only went 45km/h top speed! I need to see if any of my programming friends can help me out...
