The Ocean Harp is a cheaper version of the now famous Waterphone, with a sound made famous by such films as the Matrix. This kit is made from the sounds of beating it's rods with a beater (both metal and rubber). Compatible with NI Kontakt 2.4+

The School Gamelan

A new twist on the Javanese Gamelan, sampled in great detail - this set of instruments was built by DrumsForSchools, and is made of iron, rather than the normal bronze, which gives the instruments more bite at the louder end, whilst still having the typical, more mellow sound at lower velocities.

A gamelan is a traditional musical ensemble from Indonesia, typically from the islands of Java and Bali, featuring a variety of instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, kendang (drums) and gongs; bamboo flutes, bowed and plucked strings. Vocalists may also be included. For most Indonesians, gamelan music is an integral part of Indonesian culture.

What you get is:-

9 Metallophones (3 Demung, 3 Saron, 3 Peking) - each note has been sampled both free ringing and muted, with both a rubber beater and a wooden one, at 3 velocity layers, and 4 round robins. The 3 instruments in each size have small tuning discrepancies that provide the typical 'beating' sound of the gamelan when they are played in unison.

3 Gongs - each sampled with hits in several positions (nipple, middle ring, outer ring, rim), both free ringing and damped - 4 round robins, and up to 10 velocity layers.

Ciblon Drum - both heads sampled with the beater in several positions, 10 round robins and 4 velocity layers in each position. Also both heads sampled played by hand.

Boomwhacked

Boomwhackers are plastic tubes that go boom when you whack them! Because they are all different colours (or was that lengths?) they make different pitches of boom. In addition you can put an octavator cap on them, turning them from an open pipe to a half-closed pipe, which drops the pitch by an octave.

They make a fantastic sound, and are great for all kinds of genres - can be used as an unusual walking bass, or as aggressive percussion, an ersatz Angklung, and just to sound like Blue Man Group.

This kit was taken from a completely chromatic two-octave set.
They have been sampled in the following articulations:-

> Full length slaps, vertical hits, and angled hits, on both hard floor and soft carpet.
> Boomwhacker on Boomwhacker, using a second set - full length slaps and cross hits
> 'Drumrolls' on a table

All articulations have been sampled at a massive range of velocities, with and without octavators.
