I redeemed my code for the Bias FX LE, but can't recall where I put the file from download. I have an account from redeeming, but there seems to be no user area nor registered products page.
Did I lose my Free Bias FX then?
(I did submit a support request, just asking here if anyone knew something).
(Edit: oh yeah, install the demo version, launch DAW, instantiate demo, log in to activate....)

Did BIAS ever fix the plugins to be useful? I mean they sound great in my opinion but the user interface and general plugin operation was super buggy. You couldn't even save your settings with the project.. nor automate anything. Is this still the case?

I used it and it was quite horrible. Far to restricted and didn't make me want to buy it to unlock the stuff missing.Fleer wrote:Same hereghettosynth wrote:Yeah, and I still haven't used it.Fleer wrote:They did BIAS FX LE last November.
The freebie amp distortions, neither my other band guitarist and myself didn't like at all. Though, being able to profile your own pedal was quite useful. I think we both uninstalled it in the end.
I did (for some reason) install the Bias Amp LE last night and although everything past the amp choice is locked I quite liked some of the amp sounds. So I will play with it some more before deciding whether it is useful or not. (I am not exactly short of amp sims)

Perhaps I am a bit biased (fun intended), but I haven't felt any of these freebies since last year. They could just some hire a guy to churn out some random plugins (ie. Limiter, Transient Shaper, Keurig).

I thought R2 was quite amazing. Would never have bought it, so getting acquainted with EA reverbs this way was a step up in my book. Eventide's 2016 Stereo Room was also nice.

Agree. I kind of wish I had bought the Phoenix verb when it was in sale for $50Fleer wrote:I thought R2 was quite amazing. Would never have bought it, so getting acquainted with EA reverbs this way was a step up in my book. Eventide's 2016 Stereo Room was also nice.

Yeah, these are the two freebies that I get the most out of as well. I do use the funky surfer boogie EQ every once in awhile. I haven't really used Syntorus yet either. I do use the flux stereo analyzer from time to time.Fleer wrote:I thought R2 was quite amazing. Would never have bought it, so getting acquainted with EA reverbs this way was a step up in my book. But this bias stuff, I dunno, I might just uninstall it all TBH.

For me personally, R2 is without a shadow of a doubt the most amazing freebie I have ever gotten! Truly blows my mind and has almost become my go-to reverb now. It is among the finest reverb plugins available, period. If Michael from EA considered a better license policy (2 activations, computer authorization), I would have upgraded to R4 without a doubt, oh well...

+1. The R2 was the reverb sound I had been lacking. Was quite happy.fgimian wrote:For me personally, R2 is without a shadow of a doubt the most amazing freebie I have ever gotten! We've got 3 awesome freebies already as far as I'm concerned. Flux Analyzer (this one is AMAZING and I run it on a 2nd monitor all the time. Very awesomely implemented as a separate app), 2016 Stereo Room which gave me a cheap way to buy the whole Eventide Anthology bundle.. and of course R2.

Quite liking Bias Amp LE to be honest, sounds pretty good to my ears. Never been much of a guitar amp afficionado and don't own any other amp plugs apart from those that came with Ableton but can get a good variety of sounds with it, especially using different power amps, transformers, valve types, etc.

I had problems with Flux at first, but it works well for me now (and you do need a second monitor for it, IMO). The Eventide and other products have been great and I recently used R2 on some tracks and really liked it.
I know some people either don't like BIAS or its developer, and I haven't used it enough to offer much (though I'm going to change that this week). But I really appreciate what Focusrite is doing here. I don't see any other developers doing anything similar. Cakewalk did a few years ago with a SONAR upgrade, but that was more specific to SONAR and/or what came with it, IIRC. (And please, Cakewalk haters, just move along. This isn't about Cakewalk or SONAR.

R2 sounds out of this world with D2. The combination can compound the power.

There's nothing wrong with the sound of any BIAS plugins. It's the rest of the plugins that are absolutely horrible.shonky wrote:Quite liking Bias Amp LE to be honest, sounds pretty good to my ears. I mean: The plugin doesn't even save it's settings so you lose all your tweaks if you reload a project.. unless you saved the preset, which still means you need to manually re-load the preset before you get the sound you wanted. Why does this happen? Simple. None of the controls on any of their plugins are linked to basic VST parameters. So nothing can be automated and thus nothing can be saved/re-called by the host either.
It's absolutely bizarre how they programmed their VST plugins.. they don't even adhere to the VST plugin standard.
Then there's the GUI which is extremely badly done. No way to reset parameters to default. Several of their products also have completely broken "starting points" for the various emulations, like their compressor pack which is just bizarre when using the Fairchild wannabe. It immediately distorts any audio source you put into it. At it's default settings.
ALL of these issues have been reported to them more than a year ago and last time I tried any BIAS plugins none of the issues were fixed.
It's a "vampire" company. Bleeding people of money with absolutely no regard to fixing the problems. It's mainly targeted for the iGeneration and their pads/phones. No idea why they even made the VST effects when they can't program them and adhere to the basic standards that have been pretty much set in stone since day one.
