Wiggle - inexplicable behaviour in DAW's

The synth is Wiggle. When I use it in a DAW (like Mulab, Tracktion/Waveform, Reaper) it exhibits rather freaky behaviour. :(

When I play a few notes and release the keys the CPU-load races up and stays up until I play a few notes again. The more keys I press the more the CPU-load goes down(!). But when I release the CPU-load races up again and it does not go down again!

The thing is; when I use Wiggle in other hosts like VSTHost or Bidule it doesn't do this behaviour.

I really don't understand this! :?

I reported this behaviour to 2nd Sense but thusfar they haven't been able to address this. :(

Are there other Wiggle users that have experienced this or know how to solve this? Thanks!

Windows 7 - 32 bit, CPU Core 2 Duo 6600

Is this a multicore thing? All those hosts are multicore capable, not sure if VSTHost is and with Bidule you have to set it manually so it's not on by default. Does Wiggle have a multicore option in settings?

Was going to buy it when on sale a while back but encountered exactly the same thing in Live, made it unusable on my system which is a shame as otherwise I found it a really interesting sounding synth with a lot of potential.

@aMused - interesting suggestion, will look into that. Wiggle has no multicore setting.

@shonky - what is your system?

Ableton Live 9.7 64bit, on Windows 7 64 bit, AMD Quadcore, 8 Gb RAM

I have exactly the same problem in both live and reaper. It works fine in Kontakt and Maschine. 2nd sense says it might be due to AMD processor. Unfortunately they are not willing to fix it. Very good synth but support is mehhhh.

OK so either that means the plugin itself doesn't do multicore, in which case hypothesis ruled out, or it does but has no way to enable/disable it, which would be more worrying.

Well, mine is an (old) Intel processor, so that argument of theirs is void. I agree with you on the support. :(

BTW. How can it 'work' in Kontakt? Isn't that a sampler?

I don't know if this is still relevant with newer CPU's but maybe a denormalisation problem ?

Reaper has a setting in preferences for this one could try and see if it helps (but I think it's enabled by default anyway).

I assumed he meant to type Komplete Kontrol
