You try searching for "orchestra hit" on any free sound fx sites? Sounds pretty generic man. Like amen break levels of generic.

They had an Emax in those days apparently, so it could be one of the hits from the Emulator library but I reckon they might have simply sampled it themselves off a classical recording. Having not heard this before, I went in expecting the old Orch5 from the Fairlight.

Most of those 80s orchestral hits went big but this one is a bit different. There are a few hits tagged 'Beethoven' in the Emulator II library and one is close, but it sounds too big for this one. It sounds like a smaller orchestra and if I was going to hunt for it, probably start with the late baroque/early classical period because there is a tinge of Beethoven or Mozart in it. It sounds a bit like the opening stab of Mozart's Symphony #41 but I don't think it's that.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Beethoven? Late baroque or early classical?
Nahhh, he's practically romantic. Mozart's pretty obviously classical, but Beethoven blurred the lines man.

The first thing, what I do is looking for it in Google :D Thanks for that suggestions :P

Yeah, I know, but I searched for it in years, and I did not have an answer...

I know the spacesynth.net site, but samples which is on this site is not the same which are in the example in my first post.

Anyone else have any idea?

In this track, the same sample of Orchestra His is used:

And the second type of Orchestra Hit is like the ORCH5, but this isn't it...

Hi,

A friend forwarded this question to Michiel van der Kuy, the producer of Laserdance.

Here's his answer:

What I remember is that I sampled it from a Tsjaikowski Concerto. I lost that sample many years ago.
But…… a few month ago I managed to digitalize my old 16 track tapes incl the Future Generation album. That means that I have all the tracks (sounds) clean, incl this
great orchestra hit!! Of course I will use it for future releases because it is a recognizable sound. I stopped using it after the FG album because it has a chord in it, that means that you can only use it in a perticular key.
