Yeah the GUI is nothing but a pain in the a*** on HD screens. Some things are just not readable without zooming above screen size. Too bad Vengeance/Keilwerth didn't provide two GUIs. But still: best buy I did so far talking about generators.

I'm not throwing dirt at Steve - I'm sure he's a fantastic guy. But I will point out that even at release, Serum's GUI was too small. I use it on a "standard" 1080p 27" panel, and it has always been too small IMHO. There have been threads about this since release over at Xfer, so it's not like he doesn't know it's an issue. I guess there seriously just must be a lot of work that needs to go into it in order to accomplish it.Coockie1176ln wrote:i think its wrong to throw dirt on steve duda like that. He as well was very good with updates in beginning, like you even got serum as fx plugin. The serum gui is much better on ordinary HD displays something vegeance has improved from before but need still improvement imo. I think both has done a tremendous job. avenger is my go to synth but i still admit they did a good job on serum. The gui is just great on serum and a shame they havent figured out 4k yet but im sure when its released it will be really stable.EnochLight wrote:Well, say what you want - but Vengeance Sound/Keilwerth Audio have rocked VPS Avenger since release. Steve Duda has been working on just being able to increase Serum's GUI/UX to proper high definition/4K... for two years.![]()

But Vengeance Sound/Keilwerth Audio have released several awesome updates since release.
I'm so glad I picked up Avenger - love this synth!!!
Don't get me wrong - I love Serum - it's probably my 2nd favorite synth now that Avenger is out. And I'll be fair - even if you vector resize Avenger full-screen - most of the menus are just too damn small for my taste (but I guess they've packed so much into the thing, they don't have a lot of GUI/UX choices).

Don't forget the updates that caused more crashes than before (like the 2nd last one). Serum is pretty stable and I'm not frightened to install a update there
Of course there were many nice Avenger updates too, but tbh they were needed to finally make it usable! A state that should have been reached with the first release. Still there are crashes with DAWs and systems other than their Intel/NVIDIA dev machines.

I don't want to generate a controversy here, Avenger is my favorite synthesizer and the developer plans to add more features. However, I think Serum stands out partly because it has more exotic filters than I've seen out there (something I'd like to see in Avenger in the near future) and aside, the VPS Avenger comb filter is very soft compared to those of Massive , Serum and Spire; but this doesn't subtract merit to the good work that Manuel has done.

True. I think they all belong in the pantheon of "must-have" synths, IMHO. Each one brings something to the table.

Anybody having issues downloading the latest update? Downloading through Avenger throws an error saying download failed and I get a 'network error' downloading from the website. I downloaded via my Android phone but transferring the exe to my PC the archive appears to be corrupt. Anybody else had issues?

I installed the latest update. Then I tried to import the R2 library content and got a message that the file has been corrupted or is incomplete. I will try to download again to see if it resolve the problem.

Worked fine for me. It downloaded to my desktop, I quit my DAW, installed, and everything went fine. I didn't install the R2 soundbank again though because I already had it.MikeCallon wrote:Anybody having issues downloading the latest update? That said, Android has been known to screw things up. Have you tried just downloading directly to your PC?

You and me both. Manuel plsgoleat wrote: Joking aside, I would like to know more about the new synthesis mode.
I'm not even sure what else they can add, aside from maybe deepening the FM or additive features. That or granular.

try moving the content file under root ("d:\" for instance) before importing itRyan99 wrote:I installed the latest update. I have the hope that it will be granular synthesis, since Avenger already has a sample player included (even so, I do not know if it would be possible due to the complexity of the programming).Razzia wrote:

On the other hand, I read about "Espresso Resynthesis" and as the phrase itself indicates (being speculative) we can resynthesize samples and images (like Harmor) quickly and apply algorithms of pitch, stretching, draw and delete elements with brushes in the same spectrum (like alchemy) and much more.
Now that I think about it
Edit:
I love youmsvs wrote:the new synthesis mode starts with a "g" and ends with a "r"
