Waves Element. It was not that exciting in the end.

Umm can't remember the dev's name. But one of them was called space synthesizer. They were the first vst synths I purchased and it was the dev's first version. Damn were they buggy or what? :clown: The worst thing is that the dev blamed users computers instead of admitting his plugins were the problem. :x Oh well the users were promised free updates for life. Second version came and... :dog: Eventually the dev's synths slowly faded away from my second pc and the same happened to the dev's vst's too.

This. And that: Z3ta2. Horrible, screechy, grating sound (imo, naturally, I know many seem to love it) and pain in the ass to program (endless dropdown menus and menus nestled within menus).

Reading this thread, I'm glad I didn't jump on the Phobos hype train. Perhaps BTs last outing into the software world (Breaktweaker) was a fair warning... not that Breaktweaker is bad, it's just a bit unwieldy and really a one-trick pony. I for one was disappointed by it after the honeymoon wore off... and it wore off pretty quickly.

I'm so much happier with Serum, HIVE, Sylenth1, Massive and Spire than I ever was with the Virus TI :)
Fair enough, and the bold part is so very true.

These days I also use the synths you listed (except for Hive) more often than Virus. But still for certain kinds of sounds Virus is the king, i'm keeping mine and will unlikely ever sell.
Totally feel ya mate, it's one of the most unique synths I have ever used and nothing sounds like it.

I would definitely consider buying it if it was made available in software form, because for certain sounds, it really REALLY hits the mark when nothing else can. My favourite aspect of its sound was actually all the new features, for example the granular stuff and hypersaw :)

AAS Ultra Analog 1 and then upgraded to 2 anyway... :dog:

Sugar Bytes Cyclop. Never clicked with me.
And many people will slap me for this: D16 Lush101. Great synth but so god damn overlooked by many sound designers and hungry resources (depending on the patch). Sold it a long time ago.

Unfortunately only classic and hypersaw oscillators, also Win 32 bit only, but seems to sound close enough.

The granular and formant oscillators in TI is something no software synth can really nail atm.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Oh, yes! I forgot about that dud (IMHO), now sitting forgotten and unlayed in a corner of my boot partition. ;-)

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Me neither, got it in a KVR marketplace deal for very little, still regretted it.

I never got Wusik8000 to run on my machine (Win10 - pretty normal config) and the dude didn't answer my support email, so that was another $40 wasted.

Win 32 bit only is the deal breaker there, but still, good to see someone giving it a shot :)

Omnisphere. Bloated. Yes, some beautiful samples but every preset loaded with useless CPU intensive effects. An abysmal arpeggiator. Pitiful sample import. Difficult-to-impossible to get any kind of aggression out of it. So over priced you can't sell V1 and can't afford to upgrade (I wouldn't anyway - it's still more hype than product, and the transfer fees are prohibitive). It's a white elephant for me - be suspicious when there is no demo.

It is very nice for a narrow, inoffensive type of genre though.

You know, it's funny. I use Omnisphere in almost every track I do except for maybe when I'm doing very hard rock or metal. But for most other things, I find a use for it.

Different strokes I guess.

Omnisphere one of best synths for Hip Hop. That's why it's hated here (kvr).

KLOPFGEIST (comes with LogicPro) never quite convinced me... Too rigid in its rhythm...

Yeah. It has that ghetto vibe to it, and i always felt it was pretty gangsta too.
