Cheers! Looking forward to trying it.

- Feature request: Could you add the addmod function to the LFO period ( to link to key tracking for example )?
Else a dedicated key tracking function in the LFO ( like e.g. Thor synth has on the iPad )?
- Feature request: Amount / mix control for the filters.

- Bug? : Basic Waveforms > Distortion: When I turn channel 1 or 2 on to a setting I get a distorted plus detuned or wide sound. Turning the channel to off keeps the detuning / width. Which means I need to delete and re-insert the waveform block to get rid of it.

If we bought it already, can we download the alpha to try? I don't know how much time I would put into testing at this point.

XGmode, Yes, on all three features. The next release will get rid of detune being enabled for distortion.
The other two, modulating the LFO period and mix and keytrack on all filters are both high on the list.
Musical Gym: Yes, if you bought it already you can download the wave morph alpha.
It will be out later today or first thing tomorrow morning at the latest.
Then later this week the full release of wave morph for everyone.

Also, good news, after 1.0.4 is out I will be devoting a solid two weeks at least to nothing but user requested features.

Many of you have asked for stuff and have been waiting patiently so I want to catch up on those features.

Thanks for your continuing hard work and dedication.

Alpha Testers, Version 1.0.4 is now available on the website for alpha testing only.

1.0.4 has the new Wave Table Morphing oscillator.

This could use some extra testing before the main release this weekend,
and thanks so much to our alpha test team for being willing to help.
Save your host project often!

You must have a purchase receipt password to unzip the download.

The alpha testing page is by direct link only:
https://www.fathomsynth.com/alphatest

Same password as the Members page, kvrpro.

The new oscillator is rather complex so tonight I will be posting a user's manual just for this oscillator.
So until then for a few hours you will need to experiment.

Also, the "Members" page has caused a little confusion for people outside of KVR
who are curious where this mysterious page leads to, so the "Members" page
will now also be by direct link only, and I will always list it here on the main product.

Initial test, using Renoise DAW:

* It doesn't crash after tweaking everything I can.
* Fathom version shown in GUI is 1.0.3

* After some tweaking the parameter settings I notice only the left Wave Index, Amount, phase and Polarity Bipolar changes the mixed wavetable view.
The rest ( Freq, Skip Cycle, Algo Subtr ) are tweaked, sound changes, but view remains the same.
Note: Amount and Phase are modulated with LFO and ENVELOPE.

Update: After loading up a loop to play next to the VST and viewing Fathom again tweaking did change the view again as it should.

Added the preset I made, really like the sounds which can be made with this  :

Here's 2 feature requests.
The detune seems a bit too cumbersome for a lot of presets because of too many options and possibilities.
Not that I'd want less of them but It would be cool if there was a way to automatically increase unison detune on all oscillators.
So when you have multiple voices going that there is a slider that detunes then all further and further apart instead of doing it one voice at a time, just for efficiency
And if that isn't too hard to do maybe the same with panning.

and is there a way to increase width of unison partials in the higher spectrum and keep the fundamental static/mono or more spread as you go along so to speak. I believe Harmor has this.

Good news. I just created a user manual for the wave table oscillator.

It’s up on the website now under the documentation page.

Also, no crashes at all reported for the wave table oscillator yet.

There’s been some great ideas lately so they will go on the list to be included in an upcoming release.

XGM: Modulate LFO period.
XGM: Keytrack and Mix on all Filters.
XGM: Get rid of auto detune when distortion is first used.
CHOOS: Global detune option.
CHOOS: Frequency domain unison width.

Also, I updated the demo video using the latest code.

Xgmode, That’s a really cool preset, I think I will include that in the factory presets for the next release. I just changed one thing, I took the double hit envelope and applied it to both the Frequency and Amount in addition to the filter. Like so…

Thanks! Sure add it if you want to.
Good change you made to it, opens it up nicely!

Cheers!

Any chance of a Linux version?

Post

Tested FLstudio with the new wavetable morph option, works great there as well.
Don't know if you also made some general performance improvements for FL, massberg filter runs smooth on my pc now when sweeping the cutoff.

Post

OK, good news on FL Studio and the Massberg Filter. Thanks for reporting that.

Linux release will be this year for sure.
I need to do the Mac release first.
Linux will be sometime this summer.

Which plugin interface are most Linux people using?

Found a few bugs:

* Wavetable ( tested in Renoise and Reaper 4.78 ): click on saw ( or on the other side pulse ), then click the waveform view it to edit it. You won't see the basic waveform chosen, but the previous one. Change something, and close the draw view. You'll still see the basic waveform, click on it and you will see the changes in the drawview not outside it.

Vid:

* Reaper DAW: insert the VST, you'll notice the CPU bar isn't working or showing anything while playing notes and changing parameters.

* Wavetable: I saved a couple of waveforms, as far as I can tell all 16 got saved. Loading means all 16 get loaded. Manual states individual ones can be saved/loaded.

* Wavetable: Filebrowser shows normal presets, not the waveforms in factory or usermap. Re-loading VST and it behaves normal again.

Vid:

On a side note, Fathom site states:
In the professional version of the plugin, you can export both the raw and band limited versions of your waveforms in wav format.
After that you are free to import them into any other synth or sample editing software that can read a wav file.

I haven't found where I can export the wavefiles, it's not in the wavedraw view.
Will there also be a waveform import at some point?

Cheers!

Post

OK, Thanks for testing it.
I think you found a few real bugs and I will fix them before wave morph is released this week.

For loading and saving click on the "File" button.
To load and save entire tables click on "Load Table" and "Save Table"
To load and save individual waveforms, click on "Load" and "Save"
in the middle menu bar just above the panel.

You can test if an individual waveform was saved by adding a Wavedraw oscillator
and then hitting "Waves" and seeing if you can load the one you saved.

It works for me, I'm pretty sure it was never broken in your version.

*.WAV files are saved automatically in the pro version whenever you save an individual waveform,
but they are not listed in the browser. Just go to the windows folder where you saved the waveform,
and you will see them. You have to move or rename them right after you save or they can be overwritten.

Yes, I want to do WAV import soon, but I don't think that will be in this weeks release.
