Don't you simply hate that? I, for one, don't want to be a slave to such a strict, "Euro" rhythm. Syncing is for the birds, man.martinjuenke wrote:Have I mentioned Klopfgeist already? Far too rigid in its timing....

Like I wouldn't spend much on it, but if you hate it that much, it'll have a nice friend in Manipulator over here hahah

I can't say how many times I've heard that drumloop from liquid beats in a documentary.

EDIT: I'll have plenty of time to regret things when I'm dead!
Positivity = Progress!
I've contacted many devs and will continue to do so!
The best devs are the ones who listen to their customers. Ikutaro Kakehashi of Roland is a great example.
Good thing I learned about ProteusVX here. It's serious business. The velocity sensitive pianos alone. The 2006 manual describes it as "The most comprehensive and flexible software instrument ever." Funny how humility and marketing language don't mix very well.
Also, as far as free roland emulations,
DR 910 exists.
So does Drumatic 3, which is one of my favorite drum synths.
Then there's this http://errozero.co.uk/acid-machine/

Which beat is that? I've probably heard it, but I never tracked down the source.Touch The Universe wrote:incubus wrote:And having to hear all those shows on the science channel that used it so much![]()

Glitch Machines. Unusable GUI. Possibly the worst I've ever experienced.
Oddity2. It's become clear that it will never be touched again and you get what you get and you don't throw a fit. Extremely disappointing.

Sure. Here's my short response and other's response in the BT Phobos thread:

The regret is also the fact I can't sell it off. Being a long time Spitfire customer, watching the videos, and taking a flyer on buying it (since they don't offer demo), was my own mistake.superscan wrote:BT Phobos from Spitfire.
That's an interesting one. May I ask why?

Arturia's Moog Modular, I tagged it as "I want his" many years ago, couldn't afford it back then, recently I snapped it second hand, for cheap at marketplace... I should re-evaluate it before getting it. It doesn't sound anything like I remember it would and the GUI evolved into some kind of chaotic pandemonium, which you need to scroll through a web of dangling cables, to see actual modules... Also it was one of few plugins which de-activated after a small CPU upgrade, had to dig thought e-mails for login and pass, which put me off even more.

In defense of Klopfgeist - I consider that timing to be 'rock solid' and it's really all you need for minimalist d'n'b (if you don't like bass so much). Why hasn't there been a 1-synth challenge for this little marvel?

It's simply too militant - no room for artistic freedom.Protocol_b wrote:In defense of Klopfgeist - I consider that timing to be 'rock solid' and it's really all you need for minimalist d'n'b (if you don't like bass so much). Why hasn't there been a 1-synth challenge for this little marvel?

Zeta+ 2. I don't have much money in it, fortunately (some weird upgrade path). But I never use it, so it's still wasted money.
The interface sucks. Programming it is worse than a root canal. And the sound just isn't there for me -- the filters are especially awful. And to be sure I wasn't remembering things poorly, I just fired it up -- yep, still sounds awful.
This is a case where the specs are great on paper, but somehow things don't come together.
EDIT: Aalto is a close second for me (...was -- I sold it). Some people sing its praises, but it did nothing for me. The interface was unique and rather fun to program (its redeeming quality, and why it's #2 and not #1 regret), but the sound quality was poor. I never used it in a finished track.

Yeah, I almost forgot about that POS. I bought it during my "vocal-synth" binge over the holidays, the only one of the bunch that I have second thoughts over. In fact, the only purchase last season that I have any regret over.

I am not a fan of that synth either, but the free Muz3um presets for it are pretty decent.KBSoundSmith wrote:Zeta+ 2. I don't have much money in it, fortunately (some weird upgrade path). But I never use it, so it's still wasted money.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.
