If I'm reading this correctly, Tube Saturator 2 no longer requires iLok, software or hardware?
Dear Wave Arts User,

We are pleased to announce a new version 2.11 of Tube Saturator 2. This is a free update for existing TS-2 owners, simply download and install.

The new features of v2.11 are:

- AAX format no longer requires Pace/iLok licensing. The installers give user the option of using either WA or Pace licensing for AU/VST2/VST3 and AAX formats.

- Fixed a bug in UI code that could cause knobs to display incorrectly, or could cause crash, when multiple instances were in use.

- Low level parameter code has been rewritten. This should fix clicks that were possible when enabling/disabling sections.

- When demo mode has expired, the preset display will show "demo expired" and the bypass button will be lit. A helpful tooltip message will indicate that registration is required.

Well that's good news for people who avoid iLok.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Currently $18.70 at JRR.

I put it against Saturn 2's Tubes, but failed to hear much difference between the two with the Saturation stage (didn't like it when pushed hard anyway). Am I missing something? The Equalisation stage sounded better than FabFilter's, but it's quite CPU intensive.

Thanks for the heads up. I might get it. Always liked the free Tube Saturator Vintage.

Demo it first. Many who liked the sound original Saturator were not crazy with Saturator 2.

TBH, I decided to pass on it. I'm perfectly happy with Klanghelm SDRR, and I have a couple of others as well, so, I'm well set. (And I really can't justify any more plugin expenses either... :))

I really liked the original version of this plugin (besides the CPU hit). Version 2 was a bit of a let down in comparison imo.

When I tested tube saturator 2 when it first came out, It always introduced audible high end artifacts/aliasing (even with oversampling on) when inserted on low frequency material. It was a no go for me. Not sure if they ever fixed it.

It has 2x oversampling but that's not enough for a heavy saturator. The fixed EQ on this is pretty sweet though.

I think this thing is totally outclassed by anything Reimund has touched... Fuse Audio, HG-2, Phil's Cascade, Karacter, etc.

What a pretty / beautiful plugin (GUI)
Had been watching it for a while and had struck now at that price :tu:

Agreed. Anyways, Voxengos free tube does the job for me.

I just bought this on sale. I think its great. I also have Black Rooster Audio, Fuse Audio, Decapitator, HG2, Phils Cascade, Karacter etc etc. I wouldn't say this gets outclassed. It's quite sweet with lower levels of saturation. Too many people just crank up the drive knob 100% when demoing plugins. One of the tube models is harsh when driven very hard but the other is pretty smooth sounding. I think this sounds best when you don't use too much. Used on individual tracks in conjunction with your normal processing chains.
