Does (most) music sound better when you're drunk? Or is it 'cos it's the end of the working week?

i forget about that :hihi:

i'm always thinking, "music, it's a way to expand consciousness and consideration, to approach a more reasonable societal form founded on the localised capacity for autonomous discretion" i forget about the whole "selling drinks to people so they can try to rub their genitals together and make more fuckwitted dupes" part of what music is really all about.
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Weed and music production is a match made in heaven :D I hate writing music when I'm not stoned the brain get's in the "zone" most of the time when high on weed. I'm hyperactive and if I'm not stoned I can't concentrate for very long and get super annoyed and I hate amphetamines, f**k that chemical bullshit.

Listening to music while drunk, much like eating while drunk, can be a spiritual experience. I think it helps to have fewer inhibitions - sometimes it's hard to interact with music without having the analytical part of the brain kick in. "What chord is that? How loud are the vocals compared to the instruments?" Being drunk and listening, though, is more like "wowwww this song is soooo goood"

But making music is another story. I can never focus while drunk or high, way too distracted, so I've never bothered making anything in that state, except maybe the occasional weird lyrical turn of phrase that pops up.

Amphetamines suck indeed. I had a doctor try them on me for sleep issues many years ago (he put me on uppers in the morning and downers in the evening... you know, the kind of thing that kills many musicians and actors). They made me obsessive and feel agitated. I discontinued it post haste.

I was prescribed one of the popular anti-depressants which made me hyper and I wrote a lot. A lot of nonsense. Then I was diagnosed 'manic'. That shit is not for me. I'm not actually depressive, I'm just moody.
