i know opinions vary but i love the valhalla interfaces. the GUIs are a nice break from the clutter and busy-ness of other plug ins... which i also like and are often busy due to the number of parameters needed but it's nice to have a minimal GUI that isn't trying to dazzle me.

Thanks, dayjob!

One of the big goals of the Valhalla plugins is to be self-documenting. The tooltips at the bottom change dynamically, and contain enough info to explain the plugin for users without having to consult a manual. This is important for audio workers. 2/3rds of our customers make some to all of their income via music or sound production, and our job is to help these folks get their job done faster, while making things sound better.

I totally dig the tooltips, but not the artifacts they sometimes leave behind on screen.

And, why there's still no way to reset the parameters?

I totally agree - they are tastefully made (choice of colours, fonts, dimensions and such) and so are really nice to look at without any superflous bells and whistles and they do exactly what they are supposed to do - giving access to the parameters in a logical, effective and comprehensive way.

After demong VVV I changed my opinion on Valhalla interfaces, works great.

Still wish the tool tips could be turned off too.

Valhalla GUIs are modern, crisp and clean and yet not drab like Adobe Creative Cloud's vectorial based stuff- they're kinda funky and distinctive. Big thumbs up from a professional designer here.

I've thought about the default thing, and the answer is: I don't think that it makes sense for the reverbs to have "default" parameters that you can reset to.

Reverb is totally dependent on source and personal taste. I open up the plugin with a set of default parameters, as you need to start somewhere - but that isn't to imply that this is any sort of ideal sound that you start off with. For example, VintageVerb opens up with a 4 second concert hall. Does this mean that most music will sound good with a 4 second concert hall? Probably not.

In the Juce code framework, you can enable double clicking to reset an individual parameter. However, a single click at a given point on a slider can set the value to something that makes sense for you. This is the approach that I think makes more sense for the Valhalla reverbs.

Just have what the "default" is change based on the last loaded preset.

Then you can reset given parameters to the preset's values as needed.

The messages are specific to your user account, as far as I can tell, so if I click on it, I'm not going to see what you see (I definitely DON'T have permissions to download anything from your account!).

The best thing to do is to send an email to support at valhalla dsp dot com. This is the best way to get your email address, so we can look into any account issues, respond to you via email, all that stuff.

If there should be any additional functions to the knobs/parameters I would rather see all parameters with a Lock Function, I can't even tell how much time that would save me. Especially with UberMod.

I know many people have yet come to the understanding of the practicality and creativeness of Lock functions, but if you understand the use of being able to lock Wet and Dry when browsing presets one doesn't need to think that much further...

I many situations one knows that certain parameter should be about around a specific value (it all depends on the situation), then browsing presets to mutate/randomise other parameters does not only make it effective but creative and fun, the foundation of learning and developing skills. It also mean that presets can have another function and value of use.

This for me makes more sense and actually useful than a default recall function.

Yeah, a Lock function for every parameter is a very cool option to have. I love it in my U-He synths.
