I did a long-term bargain strategy on IK stuff. At the end of 2012 they had a Custom Shop credit group buy that went something like 4:1. I sat on those until they had a big group buy in 2014 on T-Racks that went something like 5:1. Filled out the set.

I mean, to compare, Ronaldo cost Real Madrid €80 million in 2009, but Real Madrid propably re-couped that on t-shirt sales alone, and he has scored 280 goales for them so far. So even expensive, one of the best bargain signings of all time.

When Dr. Sync closed down SynCModular to go work for NI in the early 2000s, users were given the choice to crossgrade to Reaktor for $49. That crossgrade put me on the NI upgrade path, so I have paid the cheaper upgrade prices for all of the NI updates since. Then I upgraded to Komplete for like $149 - even more cheapness, with more stuff.

That $49 I spent over a decade ago has saved me probably well over a grand.

And I can still use SynC - still runs on my machine. I'm a lucky guy.

I remember this one too. It was great. Had my four free vst's all planned out, and as the group buy hit each level, I'd download the next one.
