Yeah, no Eurovision winner since '64
They never won the contest before. Italy won in 1964. And exactly 9 months later I was born. Not that it's significant lol
So maybe there will be a baby boom early next year, this aging country really needs one :?

La Norvege: zero points :scared:

Jahn Teigen - Mil etter Mil
Finn Kalvik - Aldri i livet
I beleive it's called the Jahn Teigen effect :-)

Looking at countries that never has won EuroVision, there is a belt from the north sea to the mediterreanean, from Poland via Czech/Slovakia and the former Yugoslavia

But maybe those countries just got a good taste in music?

Jahn Teigen was on the shortlist for replacing Peter Gabriel in Genesis. Quite unbeliveably :hihi:

Mike Rutherford (according to rumour) asked him to come to audition. Teigen at that point was vocalist in Norways premium prog combo Popol Ace/Vuh so it is understandable.

It was later that he went prog AWOL, entering comedy outfit PrimaVera, then EuroVision (in the infamous skeleton suit), then going solo in the 80's playing middle of the road pop.

Just watched the Norwegian song of the '78 contest. I think his voice left him at the moment supreme. It's not a bad song.

Too bad you couldn't vote for it :D

I mean that defeat at 0 points in total has become a national saying here, when anything is bad or not flying it is like "mil etter mil" :D

@Numanoid

Don't think so.
Israel won with the unforgettable 'I wanna be a polar bear'

Well, that track is a lot better than Mil etter Mil, I am the first to admit.

Before Popol Vuh/Ace Jahn Teigen spent time in a Kibbutz, he was in the Israeli prog band The Lions of Judah. But too bad he couldn't pick up some pop song writing tips.

Ha ha ha well Cohen gives a great performance there. He sings actually better than Mick live :D

The Isareli winners have all been noteworthy, Hallelujah following Cohen winning on home soil is a classic.

And I think people even today can remember Dana International from 1998.

Post

Well, Dana actually is Sharon Cohen lol
