AFAIK they stopped developing it for such a long time already. But yeah mp3 is the standard and will remain that for a very long time. Until our bandwidths and storage space is much higher on the average, mp3 is just superior to any other format for consumer purposes. It's not like anyone ever listens to a song and thinks "Gee, such a great song, but it's just butchered by being 192 mp3!"enroe wrote:

mp3 will probably be "replaced" eventually just through bands and artists and services stopping to offer mp3's and instead just focus on lossless format. Otherwise it's still as relevant as it ever was.
