I've seen some people keep there studio monitors on a majority of the time, even when they aren't in use. Is this a good idea? I get pretty paranoid and after I'm done using them, I shut them off. Does this hurt my monitors in the long run? I am using M-Audio BX5's with an M-Audio SBX Subwoofer.
Also, what is the lifespan for most studio monitors?

I follow the last on/first off philosophy with my monitors. I turn them on last, and turn them off first when powering up and down my studio. I don't want the nasty transients damaging the speakers with other things powering on.
